Greetings, salutations, and what's up! I'm James. These days I make my living managing government proposals, and playing/composing music on the side; I'm also in love with chess.
I believe there is a correlation between chess and art that transcends our current level of understanding. I aim to be creative on the board, and my tendency is to continually present difficult problems for my opponent to test his/her ability. Sometimes I succeed like the great romantic players of old; other times I fail dismally. Such is the life of an artist.I have an ongoing project, for my own amusement really: Using Chessmaster's Personality Setup, I have been constructing personalities of formidable GMs (and non-GM players of quality caliber) who were not included in the standard Chessmaster lineup. I have spent literally hundreds of hours compiling opening books unique to each personality (based on their winning games -- I obtained my information from the databases of Fritz/Chessbase, Chessmaster, and Chessgames.com, and each opening book contains moves from EVERY SINGLE GAME I could find by that player, in which that player won). In addition, I have done intense research on each player's style, which I used to create their various settings (attacker/defender, positional/tactical, piece value, etc.) for Chessmaster. So far, I have complete opening books and personalities (and pictures as well, in all cases but a few) for the following players:
