   May-15-18 Dreev vs A Rakhmanov, 2018 (replies)
Troller: Chessbomb has an updated pgn now where Black plays 44..Rc8 and resigns at move 84.
May-14-18 Korchnoi vs Karpov, 1981 (replies)
Troller: Well, White resigned after two forced moves anyway, so maybe not a big deal. When one sees a clear win, no need to look for anything else. A very fine effort by Black in this game.
   May-14-18 Capablanca Memorial (2018) (replies)
Troller: <swordfish: No Dominguez Perez either.> Dominguez Perez is listed as inactive by FIDE. His last classical rated games date back to late 2016. It is of course not our business to tell him what to do with his life, but it is sort of a loss for top level chess and this tournament
May-07-18 Russian Team Championship (2018) (replies)
Troller: <Dionysius1> <I'm trying to make the case that to win a national championship, you really ought to be a national. Bundesliga, which I gave a passing thought to, doesn't apply because it isn't a national championship.> Indeed - and the same is the case for this event I ...

Troller: My favourite film noir is "White Heat". I am not positive that it can be termed existentialist though, haven't watched it in many years. Of course "The Big Lebowski" is a phenomenal 1990's take on the genre; one could maybe call it existentialist but then is it really a film noir? ...

Troller: 7/7 right now in Sharjah Masters! Last 4 rounds he beat Wang Hao , Sethuraman P Sethuraman , Vladislav Artemiev and Gawain Jones . He is playing White against Eltaj Safarli in the penultimate round today.
   Apr-12-18 Kasparov vs Lautier, 1994
Troller: <Toribio3: Kasparov underestimated Lautier, perhaps!> This game was played in the ultimate round of the tournament. Already before the game it was clear that Karpov would win outright, and this may also have something to do with Kaspy's play here; prior to the tournament he ...
   Apr-09-18 Bjorn Moller Ochsner
Troller: Bjørn Ochsner won the Danish Championship played as usual during Easter. Not the strongest field this year, but 8/9 for a 2748 performance rating is very impressive:
Mar-24-18 Aronian vs Karjakin, 2018 (replies)
Troller: I watched the game, and it was clear from Aronian's body language that he felt he was already worse. I think Karjakin sensed a weakness and started pushing from around move 28. As for 42.Bc3, of course a5 gives up the d-pawn instead. Engine evals give 0.00 after this, but once Black
Mar-22-18 Karjakin vs Kramnik, 2018 (replies)
Troller: Kramnik should have expected 9.h4 - it is Karjakin's thing in Candidates games vs former champions: Karjakin vs Anand, 2016
(replies) indicates a reply to the comment.
