May-22-13 Svidler vs Bacrot, 2013
| |
|
WiseWizard: Looks Bacrot misjudged something in his prep, white gets too much activity in this line and none of his pieces are challenged.

WiseWizard: <Uparamesh> <voyager39> Thanks for the kind words.

| | May-17-13 Radjabov vs Anand, 2013 May-16-13 Anand vs Nakamura, 2013
| |
|
WiseWizard: I'm surprised Anand thought he was entitled to his kingside excursion with Black having such a strong Bishop, open f-file and possibilities of piling up on f2. Very uncharacteristic of Anand, he normally plays to eliminate his opponents active pieces. I expected him to play solid

| | May-15-13 J L Hammer vs Carlsen, 2013
| |
|
WiseWizard: I think this was an excellent opening set-up from Carlsen, I tuned in after 11...Na6 and knew that Hammer would have no chance today, the position is safe with just the right amount of pawn imbalances for creativity.

|
WiseWizard: What skills do these endgames require that Carlsen clearly has more of than anyone else?

|
| | May-14-13 Karjakin vs Carlsen, 2013
| |
|
WiseWizard: Hmm it would be interesting to see if there is a pattern in Karjakin's play where he rejects unclear lines for safe and sound as in 29. Bb5/Bc2. This could indicate a lack of confidence in sharp play which is a clear weakness to attack him in.

| | May-11-13 Anand vs Topalov, 2013
| |
|
WiseWizard: After watching some more videos I admit I was wrong about Simen Agdestein. He is even asking Carlsen difficult questions, and they're pretty damn good too. Lol

|
WiseWizard: I really enjoy playing over this game, I find these types of draws where black just aims to keep the balance/diffuse the position so instructive. Walking that thin line must be exhilarating.

WiseWizard: Nice start, Svidler has become one of my favorite players, really like his style.
