arenafootball9: Is Rg6 as strong?

Apr-01-12 McShane vs Ni Hua, 2005 (replies)

arenafootball9: I wonder how Rf2 plays out, keeping the bishop instead and leaving the only queening square white? Is there time to draw?

   Apr-30-06 G Popov vs P Angelov, 1960 (replies)

arenafootball9: Yes! Nice work on the lingo search chessgames. Black "blockades" itself.

   Apr-22-06 Psakhis vs A Volzhin, 1994 (replies)

arenafootball9: Don't want to add to the confusion(sorry chessgames) but when the king was originaly on g8, before "gprice" somehow saw that the score was wrong, Nf6 looked like a forced endgame with white up a pawn. For those of us who checked the puzzle early it seemed viable.

arenafootball9: I thought I got it right away beacuse I saw all the moves based on the Qb1 threat. Unfortunatly my order of moves was incorrect. I moved the rook first, then the Queen and thought 47. f6 wins the Queen like in the puzzle. What I didn't see was that the Black Queen can just ...

arenafootball9: I saw 23. Bd4 instead of QxR like JustAFish. I though if 23...Qxd4 white would play Bb5+ winning the black queen. What am I missing?

   Oct-09-05 I Platonov vs Savon, 1968 (replies)

arenafootball9: Still nothing on the thought of 20. Bb5? I don't have a chess program to analyze the position.

Jul-10-05 Keres vs Unzicker, 1956 (replies)

arenafootball9: I also looked at nf6+ with similar threats of having the pawn gone, empowering the bishop, and possible queen pins with the second rook. Any lines winning or losing?

   Feb-26-05 K Harandi vs Balashov, 1979 (replies)

arenafootball9: ..c4 is a key move but I think Rxb3 might be the best first move. I saw.. axb3, Qb4 then..fxe5, Bxe5,..Qe1? (what else) then Be6 making bunkbed bishops...cant see another move for Black-Then c4 seems unstoppable. This was my initial thought and I think it forces more lively ...

arenafootball9: chesspatch: You are right on. f6 just lets the king live one move longer, or in my dialogue...one more play
