arsen387: never seen a player who after playing with hand received so many 'unkind' words to his address from all. The guy's not the first and surely not the last, also I don't think that Henry intended to play with hand, the ball just found his hand. If someone deserves those words, it's ...

arsen387: The final moves here are given incorrectly, there's a video on youtube of this game right from the playing hall http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJNi... . A nice attack by Karjakin

arsen387: with so many weak light squares and with the enemy R on the 2nd rank the game was lost for whites already around move 25, but Aronian wins it very beautilfully

arsen387: <Jack> I play it very often :) btw, Rc1 was a typical Levon move, not the engine's first choice (first move was O-O) but at least Kramnik started to take his time as well

arsen387: white's game here can be given as the definition of harmony in chess, very beautiful. 28.Bxf6 is cool, such move could never even pass through my mind

Thrajin: <arsen387>, just letting you know there is a team match that began yesterday; I included you because you said (last week I think) you were available.

Thanks,

Robin01: <arsen387>Whenever you have time you can challenge me for the final matches. I actually am not sure how to do this. I guess we have four games to play, two each with black and white.

Thrajin: <arsen387>, thank you for the notice. I will be including you in team matches unless you say otherwise. But I believe you had imposed a limit of four games(simultaneously) in your message to me on gameknot. I will make sure I don't go above that threshold.

pulsar: <arsen387> As a backgrounder, let me say that I was born in 1981, five years before the Edsa People Power. I knew of some of my country's history because I read and heard some accounts.

Yes, the EDSA revolution was bloodless and peaceful but I was referring to those who died and disappeared even before the dictatorship was toppled. More erudite scholars of history will prove that the revolution was a protracted one, from 1972 when Martial Law was declared up to 1983 when Ninoy Aquino Jr was assasinated the struggle for genuine democracy led to many deaths and disapperances of people who opposed the dictatorship.

Thank you for the visit. :)

Where is my mind: A good crushing win! 7.Nf3 I like that variation of the Sicilian...even though Black wasn't playing theory you still got all the important moves in, Bc4 and then got the Knight to d5,thats a great square for the Knight.d5 is a good square for White to control and you controlled it the whole game.

arsen387: thanks <Where is my mind>, that was mostly due to some bad moves by blacks in the opening. that N on d5 was a real monster constantly keeping blacks in a cramp, that's why maybe 12...Bxd5 was necessary. also after 16.b3 if axb3?? then RxR QxR Nc7+ royal fork. the a pawn was a gonner there.

btw, our 3 games at QA are very interesting, unfortunately I can't play them all at the same pace bcz of big number of games in progress. Anyway, especially the 2 games where you're whites are very absorbing

Where is my mind: Yes 12...Bxd5 definitely. That Bishop didn't do anything... didn't even take the rook.I didn't realize 16.b3 could cause so much trouble!

<big number of games in progress>Yeah. Take your time.I had to cut down on my GameKnot games. In both of our Q.A. games you mentioned, the Bishops have taken a Rook, and yet it isn't decisive in either game. Those games keep changing...at first I liked game 4 and not game 2. Now game 2 has become a bit clearer and game 4 is a muddle :-)

I still liked the position here.White shd stay focused on the c-file. Instead of trying to do stuff in the centre with 14.Bf4 and 15.Bd6

arsen387: thanks for the game <Where is my mind>. first I think 13.a5 is a very dubious move, the pawn on a5 is much weaker than on a4 and also ties the a1 R to it's defense. but as you noticed, focusing on the c file could be a good plan for whites, but rather on move 13 not 14.

And I think 31.Rc6 was a blunder after which whites are losing the R or there's a forced mate ( though a pretty long one), though engines surely will prove me wrong here :) Anyway, smth like Qc4 instead of Rc6 should hold much longer I think.

It will be interesting to go through the game with engine

Where is my mind: OK,then c-file on move 13.
2...b5 was good, hadn't see that before.
Ah,31. Qc4, I wasted time looking at Qc6 which is terrible. After move 31 I didn't see a way to stop that pased a-pawn. Thanks for the game and comments.

Where is my mind: Thanks for the game <Arsen>. I hadn't played against 6.Nbd7 very often.9.Ng4 that knight was very annoying. After that on move 22 I thought I would lose.
Then on move 25 I thought I could win with the past pawn.It was an interesting game.

arsen387: <Where is my mind> yes, an interesting one. actually almost all the game whites were better (except maybe some 3-4 moves around move 20) and I think after 36.Rf1 (instead of Qc7+) it's only whites who play for a win there. I was lucky to get away with a draw

Where is my mind: <36.Rf1 (instead of Qc7+)> I thought the passed d pawn would be a threat.White has more pawns on the kingside, but the black pieces can threaten whites king if the pawns are advanced. Maybe I should have tried to trade off a queen or bishop and then pushed the pawns.

Where is my mind: Hi Arsen, that was a difficult game to play. I thought black had a solid position after 26 moves. It got too complicated! <it turned out that Rd7 was not much worse than gxf5> I think both options are very difficult to play. 31...Rf8 is interesting. Thanks for the game and comments.
