Jul-05-18 Guanchu Liu vs Li Chao, 2011 (replies)

bamaexpert: Ok folks, at the risk of being forever ostracized from the chessgame.com community, I HAVE to ask...what is the deal with "chrisowen"? His long nonsensical posts continue to perplex me. Is he some kind of savant? And if you're reading this ChrisOwen, can you enlighten me? Sorry, ...

   Jun-08-18 H Hunt vs J W Rogers, 2008 (replies)

bamaexpert: morfishine No, elephant hunting "per se" isn't funny at all considering their dwindling numbers in the wild. I hope you can absorb the fact that the two bad jokes I posted were pure semantics, NOT actually elephant hunting. Both those jokes were those of Groucho Marx, RIP.

bamaexpert: Congratulations to Sam Shankland, the new US Champion, and maybe the newest member of the FIDE 2700 club.

bamaexpert: I predict the Caruana-Carlsen game will proceed as follows: 1. e4 a6! 2. d4 h6! 3. Nc3 a5!! 4. Nf3 h5!! and black wins.

   Feb-27-18 H Milligan vs S Wu, 2008 (replies)

bamaexpert: Pasker- if only white's rook were on c3 and white-squared bishop on e2, you would have a Boden's mate, minus the Q! btw Rxd7 wins a minor piece, not a rook :) Black is so tied up in this position, my sadistic side might have played Rd3 and then sliding the other rook over.

Sep-08-17 Carlsen vs Dreev, 2017 (replies)

bamaexpert: hmmm...waiting for his opponent to make a mistake. Isn't that what we're all doing when playing in a tournament? Mistake, blunder, whatever...makes the game a lot easier to win. "Carlsen... waiting for Dreev to make a mistake.." geez

   Jun-03-17 B Bok vs Naiditsch, 2017

bamaexpert: Fascinating game! These 2 players were there to do battle!

Apr-29-13 Mamedyarov vs Nakamura, 2013 (replies)

bamaexpert: Well, yesterday in the press conference, after his loss to ♘akamura, Morozevich said that he's sick - maybe Shak caught the virus. It's a well known fact that no healthy man has ever lost a game of chess.

Apr-08-13 Topalov vs Kasparov, 1998 (replies)

bamaexpert: wow, this one was tough. Black is a piece down with no hope in sight. Kasparov should have resigned. Topalov was probably sitting there grinning ear to ear. As if some middle-earth miracle occurred, there appeared before Gandalf (Kasparov) the amazing and riculously simple ...

   Feb-27-13 T Coleman vs P H Fields, 2011 (replies)

bamaexpert: Thanks crisowen, your posts helped clarify this position for me. Again, thanks!
