USCF about 1700. (haven't played OTB in 20 years).
Love the sicilian dragon as black, belgrade gambit in 4 knights as white. I drew with (a very young) Maxim Dlugy in 1980. I was a member and later president of the Columbia University chess club in the days when the first team was Salvatore Matera, Gary Klein and Robert Gruchacz

   May-18-17 Paul Rusan

belgradegambit: The only FM I've ever defeated. Truth be told it was in online blitz and I won using Jan Gustafsson's strategy of heading for "Flagstaff Arizona" (playing fast and winning on time).

   May-04-17 Kramnik vs D E Cori Tello, 2015 (replies)

belgradegambit: I'm the only one who associated the pun with the Terrible Thunderlizards.

Apr-22-17 Caruana vs Aronian, 2017 (replies)

belgradegambit: "Lucky draw". I am among those who does not believe there is any luck in chess. I've dropped a piece in won positions but that was not bad luck, just bad play.

   Apr-19-17 Gashimov Memorial (2017) (replies)

belgradegambit: Wow, a Radjabov sighting!

   Apr-02-17 Valery Salov (replies)

belgradegambit: Looking at the full Wikipedia page and his Facebook page shows he's completely bonkers.

Mar-31-17 B Ider vs Yifan Hou, 2017 (replies)

belgradegambit: Reminiscent of this GOTD D Mackenzie vs D Pruess, 2006 . I've had 2 blitz games where I had 2 minors plus 2p for my queen. In both my opponent had "trapped" my queen but I won both because of more active minors and a safer king. These games are worth study.

   Mar-28-17 I Rabinovich vs Botvinnik, 1937

belgradegambit: jvv is correct of course. Either 24. Bxf6 or 24. exf6 win easily. 23...f6?? should have been the losing move.

   Mar-27-17 A Giri vs Svidler, 2017 (replies)

belgradegambit: White had a won game until 35. h3? Giri must have overlooked the simple knight fork.

   Feb-21-17 R Krogius vs A Ojanen, 1944 (replies)

belgradegambit: Not a Tuesday level problem.

   Feb-20-17 Nakamura vs R Rapport, 2017 (replies)

belgradegambit: Only Rapport would play a Chigorin defense at this level.
