| |
|
bettermove: I am continuing my investigation of the Schmid Benoni variation.
This game is included in 'Starting out Benoni systems' by Raetsky & Chetverik as a Schmid Benoni illustrative game.

| |
|
bettermove: Phew -that was quite a hectic Scotch (some Scotch games are calmer and can go on over 50 moves or so).Rublevsky seems to be a bit of a Scotch specialist (eg see Rubleskvy vs Vajda 2004)

|
| | Sep-22-07 Ni Hua vs E Inarkiev, 2007
| |
|
bettermove: Ni Hua is rolling along nicely with this variation of the Scotch as he disposed of J Rowson also with a similar Scotch game.

| | Aug-03-07 Larsen vs Petrosian, 1966

|
bettermove: What is going on with this game:
Gagunashvili-Pert, draw after 3 moves!??
This is poor IMHO- was there a valid reason for this? Otherwise top class chess is up for ridicule if short agreed draws materialize like this!
Whatever the reason perhaps in a top competition the rules ...
