buRnINGbeNd: <Chessgames.com> The ECO code is wrong. It should be B38.

Apr-09-08 Karpov vs Kasparov, 1986 (replies)

buRnINGbeNd: Queen capturing the gambit pawn? I didn't see any gambit here. This was at least 18 moves of theory at the time.

buRnINGbeNd: 28. Rxg7+ Qxg7 29. Bxg7 Kxg7 30. Qg3+ (or Qg4) Kh8 31. Qg6 Rf6 1/2-1/2, so to win, he needs something else.

buRnINGbeNd: lol right. i knew that...

   Mar-21-08 N Ibraev vs D Kokarev, 2003 (replies)

buRnINGbeNd: Isn't this the first game that 17.Rf1! was played? And no one has commented? It seems that the PP is really in a hurt right now.

buRnINGbeNd: dear santa, i really need some games to go through in all the weird sidelines of my favorite openings, and a CG premium would really help in my development! shane

buRnINGbeNd: 13. ...Bxg5 14.Kb1 Ne5 15.Qh5 Qe7 16.Nxe6 Bxe6 17.Bxe6 g6 18.exf7+ Kxf7 19.Qe2 is likely to end in a draw. It is a wonder why black would still allow 13. ...Nc5 14.f6 as these lines are still struggling. I think players should wait for better analysis of those lines

Oct-26-07 Karpov vs Korchnoi, 1974 (replies)

buRnINGbeNd: The variation with 15. Nde2 Qa5 (as opposed to ...Re8) has now been found fairly drawish. Of course, at the time the move was played, 19. Rd3! certainly deserved a ! as well as much praise from commentators, as it is hard to meet a new move OTB in any situation. Now, however ...

Oct-26-07 Karpov vs Korchnoi, 1971 (replies)

buRnINGbeNd: 10. ...Rc8?! is a transposition back into the main line with 10. Bc4. Better is ...Qa5 or ...Nxd4 (intending ...b5) where black gets even better counterplay due to the bishop's early retreat than in the main line Bc4 yugoslav.
