I live in the Netherlands. During secondary school and university I played a lot of chess. After many years chessgames.com inspired me to catch up with playing and enjoying chess again. I like the kibitzing and all the other features of this site a lot. My level is in between a monday and and a thuesday puzzle. Once in a while I like analyzing games. Sometimes the kibitzing is very helpfull to understand the games better. Now and then I add some computer assisted kibitz (Fritz 10).

I play a few correspondence games on internet at:
www.chessworld.net (bystander).

   Jan-02-13 Cornelis Van Wijgerden

bystander: During the 50th Groningen Chess tournement, Cor van Wijgerden received the so called "Euwe Ring". This ring stands for important contributions in the Dutch chess community. After five years the owner of the ring should hand it over. So far, the next players have own this ring: Max

Dec-30-12 Van der Wiel vs J Van Foreest, 2012

bystander: Herman Grooten analysed this game (Dutch). The website of the Groningen Schaakfestival referred to this website. http://schaaksite.nl/page.php?al=va...

   Dec-30-12 Jason P McKenna

bystander: Currently one of the leaders Hastings 2012-2013 (2,5/3) and not a single kibitz on this page? Anyone knows more about Jason P McKenna?

   Oct-28-12 Nijboer vs Z Kollen, 2012 (replies)

bystander: <Oct-27-12 hellopolgar: i have a feeling that Friso Nijboer lost this game on purpose> The more participants, the more complex it gets to predict pairings in a swiss tournement.

   Oct-28-12 J Zwanzger vs J Smeets, 2012

bystander: 28) f4? Now white opens his kingside voluntary and the game is lost. I would prefer 28) Rac1.

   Oct-23-12 H Ree vs Zsofia Polgar, 1995

bystander: On second thoughts, the first part of my previous post is not valid. 21) h3 is a very good move als long white plays 24) Kh1 instead of 24) Kf1 as pointed out by <Theonov jan-04-12> Sometimes when a game is a puzzle or when live kibites are posted, there is so much ...

Oct-23-12 Karpov vs Uhlmann, 1973 (replies)

bystander: My computer prefers 29..Kh7 above 29..h5. 29..Kh7 looks like a waiting move to me and maybe g4 in this line is not so strong as in the actual game. Any thoughts about 29...Kh7?

   Oct-22-12 I Krush vs R Wang, 2012

bystander: 16 Ne2 looks like a mistake to me. Why not 16 Nd1? White defends Bb2, is not forced to trade the queens, and Rc3 becames a threath. E.g. 16

   Oct-20-12 Kurajica vs Naiditsch, 2012

bystander: 31..Rda8? After this move, the game is really drawn. Maybe black has still some possibilities after 31 Rc8? Black threatens

   Sep-23-12 Botvinnik vs Flohr, 1946

bystander: I do not understand 32) .. Nh5? Some alternatives 32)..Bd5, 32)... Bf8, ...
