Aug-06-11 M Esserman vs Van Wely, 2011 (replies)

champsylove: In my blitz games I get the old, " it is an unsound gambit" That rhetoric usually comes from the side that loses. Beautiful smith morra game to add to my collection Looks like Lawrence Trent is going to have to do a smith morra 2 for chessbase.

   Jul-12-11 Morozevich vs M Godena, 2011

champsylove: Plenty, the fact that Morozoevich uses it shows it has great creative potential, which it is why I play it. Victor Bologan has used it with good success on occasions and of course Nigel Davis, who does a very respectable chessbase dvd on the subject.

   Jun-02-11 Adams vs L Trent, 2011 (replies)

champsylove: Spidey, outpositions the young pretender here. Although, many congratulations to LT on a fantastic CB video on the smith morra.

Sep-28-10 Adams vs Carlsen, 2010 (replies)

champsylove: Congratulations Spidey! I think the Boy Wonder was a little too cavalier with the web slinger. I agree, great video Kingcrusher!

   Aug-24-10 Ponomariov vs Radjabov, 2010

champsylove: Garech: Good post. Elite skeptics, they are the ones who delight in telling us all that Tal's sacs were unsound, yet would have been blown away by him otb. The KID is a beautiful university of chess, its potential for dynamism, creativity and sacrafice against whites prime ...

Aug-22-10 Spassky vs Fischer, 1972 (replies)

champsylove: Forgive my chess ignorance, but is this not a Kan set up?

   Aug-17-10 Van Wely vs A Giri, 2010

champsylove: Van the man has not been playing to form lately. He had a poor game against Nakamura.

   Jul-31-10 British Championship (2010) (replies)

champsylove: The Web slinger is looking sharp!

   Jul-31-10 R Eames vs Adams, 2010 (replies)

champsylove: The web slinger returneth! Go get em Spidey.

   Jul-27-10 Dortmund (2010) (replies)

champsylove: There are so many different criteria that we can use to define greatness, that makes this discussion interesting but ultimately pointless. Rating, longevity, contribution to chess theory, comparable GM opponent strength, number of titles, grade inflation, natural chess ability.
