May-08-13 Rybka vs Houdini, 2011 (replies)

cjrubiks: Unbelievable game. Houdini sacs two pawns for not-so-obvious positional advantage that just keeps increasing. It's hard to believe that an engine played this.

   Apr-29-13 M Heinsohn vs B Blitsko, 2012 (replies)

cjrubiks: He probably calls the tournament referee over, and asks "How the heck can white advance the pawn to e7 when he doesn't have it already on e6?"

Apr-12-13 Adams vs Kasparov, 2005 (replies)

cjrubiks: I think 27 Qxc2 is met by 27 ... Rfc8, and now 28. Qxc8 Rxc2+, or 28. Qd2 Qxa4 threatens Rxb2, which cannot satisfactorily be stopped, as 29. Bc1 runs into 29. Rxc1.

Mar-31-13 Radjabov vs Carlsen, 2013 (replies)

cjrubiks: An epic meltdown if there ever was one, especially given what was at stake, as well as the strength of the players. Shocking.

   Oct-16-12 Nakamura vs S Williams, 2012 (replies)

cjrubiks: I think that the position just before White's 36th would make a terrific Thursday or Friday puzzle.

   Oct-16-12 D Andreikin vs Nakamura, 2012

cjrubiks: Perhaps this was a Swiss Gambit?

   Apr-16-12 Kasparov vs Gelfand, 1991

cjrubiks: It's reasonable because Gelfand is in check and will lose the queen.

   Mar-29-12 Douglas Root

cjrubiks: He was actually one of the "West Covina Whiz Kids" in the early to mid 70s, along with Perry Youngworth, and I think, one other, whose name escapes me. The West Covina club was one of the strongest in SoCal at the time, and regularly hosted some very competitive tournaments.

   Mar-26-12 Lasker vs E M Sala, 1901 (replies)

cjrubiks: <LTJ: I hope that everyone is cool if I claim the full point> I have to honest here, LTJ -- we really don't care either way.

   Mar-21-10 Z Izoria vs F Volkmann, 2003 (replies)

cjrubiks: <dzechiel>What makes life harder in your line is that after 21.g3, Black can save the bishop via Qf5+ and Qd7. Other than that, your line is beautiful. The key idea of getting the queen to c6 is clearly winning, and much faster, however.
