condor: Is it me, or are their less famous games on players' profiles from recent years?

Dec-08-09 Carlsen vs Kramnik, 2009 (replies)

condor: Those of you ignore the opening miss the point. For computers a position may appear equal but for humans it is not. Kramnik must continually find the synthesis of a whole mirage of moves while Carlsen can continually dance and guard against Kramnik's threats. If Rybka played Fritz ...

   Jul-15-09 King's Indian (E92) (replies)

condor: I played 7. dxe5 dxe5 8. Bg5 and won a tactical game. What should black play?

Nov-25-08 A Nickel vs The World, 2008 (replies)

condor: Either.

Nov-17-08 Kramnik vs Sasikiran, 2008 (replies)

condor: Can you imagine if Anand turned up instead?

   Mar-15-08 J Cesena vs J Dyke, 1979 (replies)

condor: Surely one of the most beautiful finishes ever?

   Feb-11-08 NN vs G Abrahams, 1929 (replies)

condor: White can play the pure Grand Prix attack with 2 f4. After 2...d5 white can respond with the brilliant Bryntse gambit 1. e4 c5 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3! dxe4 4. Ng5 Nf6 5. Bc4 Bg4 6. Bxf7+ Kd7 7. Qxg4 Nxg4 8. Be6+ Kc6 9. Bxg4, the game possibly continuing 9...e5 10. Nf7 Qf6 11. Nxe5+ Kd6 12. ...

   Jun-10-05 Scotch Game (C45) (replies)

condor: In the 4...Qh4 line ECO2 gives 5 Nb5 Bc5 6 Qe2 Nd4 7 Nxd4 as a slight advantage to white. However after 6...Nf6! 7 Nxc7 Kd8 8 Nxa8 black seems to gain massive counterplay as white has only one developed piece against black's 4 with white's f2 square looking very vulnerable. As far as

   Jun-10-05 Vienna Gambit (C29) (replies)

condor: When I have to face the Vienna gambit as black I like to play 4...d5 5 fxe5 Nxe4 5 d3 Bb4! which leads to 6 dxe4 Qh4+ 7 Ke2 Bxc3 8 bxc3 Bg4+ 9 Nf3 dxe4. I should mention that the Vienna is really just for the cowards who are too scared to play the King's gambit and so throw away ...
