   Jan-22-11 J Smeets vs Carlsen, 2011 (replies)

el nanes: I thought the Berlin defence is a drawing weapon. Can't imagine Carlsen wanted a draw in this game. This game shows Carlsen deep understanding of Chess. Without Prep nobody could stand a chance against him. As soon as his prep reaches the level of Kramnik or Anand he will be ...

   Jan-22-11 Kramnik vs A Giri, 2011 (replies)

el nanes: It's unwise to play Gruenfeld against Kramnik. Giri can ask Swidler about that.

Nov-10-10 Shirov vs Nakamura, 2010 (replies)

el nanes: This is a draw!!. Players should always fight it out til the end as you never know wether your opponent will play flawless all the way. At this level a slight inacurracy can be decisive. They should forbid draws before move 40. Considering the depth of preparation nowadays it an ...

Nov-07-10 Gelfand vs Shirov, 2010 (replies)

el nanes: after the 32nd move from white the positions is 100% symetric and shirov still manages to loose the endgame. Poorly played by shirov. I admire him but this is BS.

Nov-07-10 Nakamura vs Eljanov, 2010 (replies)

el nanes: People alway complain about the many draws in elite tournaments but for me it is alway amazing that when so strong players meet one is actually able to beat the other. This deep combination by Nakamura shows how a very strong player can be outplayed.

   Oct-05-10 Bronstein vs E Rojahn, 1956 (replies)

el nanes: black should have gone for 0-0-0. Makes it more risky for white advancing his pawn majority on the queenside.Besides after a5 and then b6 white cant open the queenside. nice game but poorly strategical concept by black.

el nanes: this is one of my all time favorites. I love the pawn structure after 31..f4
