   Jun-28-11 Bill Wall (replies)

ethan stech: Hey Bill, kudos on your recent tourney result at the Space Coast Open!

Oct-24-10 Leko vs Kramnik, 2004 (replies)

ethan stech: Having a history as a tactical player, I've dismissed the Kramnik-Leko match as boring until now. I didn't realize how interesting positional play really is.

   Oct-23-10 Waitzkin vs Wojtkiewicz, 1993

ethan stech: Waitzkin has way more than the required number of norms against GMs; why didn't they ever give him the title?

Oct-22-10 Karjakin vs Shirov, 2002 (replies)

ethan stech: It's a shame more guys like Shirov or Karjakin aren't in the World Championship 2012 Candidates Tournament. You'd think that Karjakin would be the "over 2700 FIDE nominee" contender, but I guess not.

   Oct-18-10 Adolf Anderssen (replies)

ethan stech: Anderssen was one of those few players who remained human outside of chess. You've got to give this guy credit despite his losses to Morphy; he was a powerhouse of the day.

Oct-17-10 Shabalov vs Stripunsky, 2010 (replies)

ethan stech: Shabalov and Shirov are the living remnants of Tal. Good to see this kind of play among GMs

   Oct-17-10 Morphy vs NN, 1855

ethan stech: <kayakerg> I don't know a lot of modern GMs who employ the Evans on a regular basis, but a lot of club players still like it. Personally I use it as my main response to 1. ...e5.

   Oct-15-10 Kibitzer's Café (replies)

ethan stech: Thanks everybody. If you guys are interested, I can post the games here afterwards.

   Oct-06-10 Euwe vs Noteboom, 1931

ethan stech: Moves 25 and onward show a pretty awesome example of endgame technique.

   Jul-26-10 Waitzkin vs J Demoulin, 1994

ethan stech: I don't see anything that says ...Rb8 is theory, YoungEd. I certainly wouldn't play the game sequence. It just seems farfetched to me that one pawn running down the board is going to cause White problems. There is however a potential threat if Black has the b AND a pawns ...
