Jun-21-08 Magnus Carlsen

groupoid: I think it's a mathematical thing. More players will push out the extreme ends of the elo-distribution.

| | Jun-20-08 Sergey Karjakin
| |
groupoid: Suddenly Karjakin may make big rating jumps.

groupoid: DFelter; great blog!
I think it's still to early for Magnus to play matches against Anand or Kramnik. Those kind of matches requires a lot of stamina and depth.
Magnus plays fast and strong with few errors, but he still lacks a little depth, relatively speaking.

| | Jun-10-08 Carlsen vs Van Wely, 2008

groupoid: Van Wely played very well except for that move (in time trouble)

groupoid: Rc1 and he really would have covered that pawn

| | Jun-08-08 Carlsen vs Ivanchuk, 2008
| |
groupoid: I wonder if Ivanchuk really tried to win. Was the repetition Qh6-h3 a device to save time?

| | Jun-08-08 Onischuk vs Jakovenko, 2008 Jun-08-08 Nisipeanu vs A Volokitin, 2008
| |
groupoid: No rating favorite here.
It's difficult to understand that this line should be so drawish.

| | May-21-08 Alexander Morozevich
| |
groupoid: Will Moro play in Sarajevo soon? In that case, if he is in top form, watch his rating!
