jinkinson has kibitzed 43 times to chessgames   [less...]
   Jul-15-19 J Sarfati vs P R Green, 1990
jinkinson: The trick is 48...h3 49. Kf3! h2 50. Kg2 h1=Q+ 51. Kxh1 Ke7 52. Kg2! marching the king down the board and queening a pawn. White has to be careful not to push either pawn too early though.

jinkinson: Wikipedia page for Addison:
   Jul-08-19 Arturo Bonet
jinkinson: Wikipedia page: Also seems surprising that someone who beat Alekhine in a tournament game has no kibitzing on their profile.
   Jul-06-19 Alekhine vs Euwe, 1921
jinkinson: Even the final position isn't lost for Black--after 12...c6 Black should be only slightly worse.
   Jun-26-19 Kasparov vs Short, 1993
jinkinson: Sorry but there's no way 15 Bxc3 is a sacrifice. White gets the queen back immediately.
   Jun-25-19 Fischer vs R Flores Alvarez, 1959
jinkinson: After 63. Kb5, Black must be careful to hold the draw: ...Bd6?? loses to 64. c7! Instead 63...e3 64. c7 e2 65. c8=Q e1=Q and White can do no better than 66. f8=Q, leading to a drawn queen ending.
Jun-24-19 Yates vs Nimzowitsch, 1910 (replies)
jinkinson: Saw up until Ba3+ which I didn't see until clicking on the game. I was planning on 59. ...b2+ and didn't realize until later that the bishop can just take the pawn.
   Jun-21-19 Rubinstein vs Spielmann, 1922
jinkinson: Black appears to be in zugzwang in the final position. A pretty finish.
Jun-14-19 Capablanca vs Alekhine, 1927 (replies)
jinkinson: <whiteshark> Turns out there are sources (or at least one source) for his teeth being extracted:
Jun-02-19 Fischer vs Korchnoi, 1962 (replies)
jinkinson: I remember the Mammoth book of the world's greatest chess games (discussing Rubezov vs Borisenko) criticizes 29 c5? and argues that 29 Ra2! Rd7! is best play (citing Mednis). They also said that this (again according to Mednis) should allow Black to hold the draw. Clearly ...
