<One of your “fans” bought you a free account, congratulations!

Best regards,
Daniel Freeman>

Thanks to my unknown "fan" and thanks to Mr. Freeman for a stylish email.

<The account <john barleycorn> has received a kibitzing suspension for 2 hours due to the following post:

john barleycorn: <saffuna: You're a professional then, <morfishine>?>

<morfishine> is a professional numb skull.

REASON: Leave poor morfishine alone please. He can't take the heat.

Due to the brevity of this suspension, it may not be appealed. You will be able to post again at 2018-06-29 19:06:15 USA/Eastern.

Thank you for understanding, Staff

Above bio is subject to deletion:

<Greeting, user "john barleycorn”:

User “morfishine” has registered a complaint regarding some content in your “bio” which he believes constitutes a personal attack. While we obviously have the ability to remove such content administratively, I’m asking you to edit your bio yourself so as to remove the disparaging content. We don’t endorse such antagonism, so please indulge this reasonable request on our part.

Best regards, Admin>

the times they are a changing (part2 digitally remastered)

<Dear user “john barleycorn”:

Frankly, it doesn’t matter whose words they are, because you’re gratuitously repeating the name-calling in your bio. is under new management, and there will be at least some changes in posting policies and the handling of complaints. Our current opinion is that the cited bio content DOES constitute a personal attack, but regardless, the member who is its target has formally registered a complaint. Thus, it is incumbent on you to indulge him and remove the offensive material once the Chessgames Admin has concluded that the complaint has merit.

I really don’t want to take the time to make the edits to your myself, so please find it in your heart to comply with our request. Additionally, we would note that the content in question is hardly biographical, and, once again, a valid complaint has been registered.

Best regards,
Chessgames Admin>

<Dear Admin,

that's a pretty weak answer from the "new management". Just go ahead, take your time, and censor my "bio" by eliminating the notification of the previous CG management unless you change your current opinion.

Have a great weekend>

Never seen that *I*, ME and MY in any of Goldsby's posts:

<<Greetings john barleycorn:

Despite the facts you cite above, *I* wish to retain a *measure* of anonymity by not having my name sprayed all over the place, especially when the posts are trollish in nature—as deemed by ME. It is MY prerogative when and where I decide that this has occurred.

Notwithstanding the fact that my name has been made public a few times, those who have mentioned it have done so with my implicit or explicit permission, and/or from entirely pure motives. You do not meet those criteria. Consequently, I reserve the right to enforce posting guideline #5 on my own behalf, so please be advised—don’t post my name again unless you meet the conditions above.

As I noted, such postings as the one you made, especially when personal information is *gratuitously* included, are a violation of posting guideline #5, and will be enforced whenever the target of the post complains, and indeed perhaps in some cases where the Admin or Owners of this site deem it prudent.

Parenthetically, the posting guidelines will be updated VERY soon to include restrictions against any excessively antagonistic (trollish) behavior, the determination of which will of course be at the sole discretion of the management. >

john barleycorn: This game is definitely (for me) among the most overrated games in chess history. What else except 30.Ba3 whould have given Botvinnik a chance for a fight? then Botvinnik also admitted he could calculate the effect of Ba3 for only 6 moves and was not sure about the outcome.
