I am a regular at the rochester chess center current ELO is 1900. I try to make the rounds in Western NY and subsequently know most players in Western NY. I am putting together a database of Dr. Erich Marchands games, they will probably be available sometime December 11. Although maybe sooner, maybe later.

   May-13-13 J Benjamin vs A Ramirez, 2013

jrofrano: 62. Kg4; ouch. Time pressure was a factor.

   Apr-10-13 Bologan vs E A Levin, 2013

jrofrano: He hit him with the "Knight Truf!" Black appeared to have a "heavy" redundancy problem as both his queen and his rook were acting like rooks towards the end.

   Apr-03-13 E Schiller vs Payne, 1979

jrofrano: here comes the payne train.

   Apr-03-13 O Salmensuu vs B Lalic, 1999 (replies)

jrofrano: Great queen sac; and not a single person has anything to say?!

   Mar-29-13 Z Izoria vs Lenderman, 2009

jrofrano: how does white lose in this position? Perhaps there were some time issues? White is clearly better/winning AND can force a draw pretty much whenever.

   Feb-27-13 H Danielsen vs Y Norowitz, 2013 (replies)

jrofrano: Jeez; he got beat like a drum.

   Feb-26-13 D Saduakassova vs H Danielsen, 2013

jrofrano: The Hippopotamus rises!!!!!!!!

   Feb-26-13 M Yudovich Jr. vs S Tears, 1968

jrofrano: Title for this one should be, "Tears of a Clown"

   Feb-20-13 Kibitzer's Café (replies)

jrofrano: Why isn't the computer chess championship being covered on this site? http://www.tcec-chess.net/stage_1.php

   Feb-20-13 Kasparov vs R Ballantyne, 2008 (replies)

jrofrano: I don't understand what is wrong with 24.g4 Bxg4 25.fxg4 Nxg4 26.Qg3! Obviously black has some pawns but white should win this position easily.
