I am an Art Historian with a deep interest in Chess and Chess History. Although I am a die hard kasparov fan, I do have an immense respect for Fischer, Morphy, Capablanca and Karpov. My idol is Marcel Duchamp, a great artist and a passionate chess player. As he says 'Not all artists are chess players, but all chess players are definitely artists.'

Sep-22-13 Letelier vs Fischer, 1960 (replies)

kasparvez: One question: has anyone ever sacrificed a queen against Fischer and won??

Jun-14-13 Kasparov vs Karpov, 1986 (replies)

kasparvez: After move 35 the position reminds one of the famous Fischer-Taimanov game. It has all the potentials to earn white a brilliancy prize. But Karpov keeps his pawns on the dark squares here, and Kasparov fails to set him any problems. His subsequent play is uncertain and confused. ...

   May-23-13 Anatoly Karpov (replies)

kasparvez: Happy Birthday to the greatest ambassador of our sports! While in terms of playing strength he was up there on the Olympus with Fischer and Kasparov, what distinguished him from most was his friendly disposition and innate humility. Long live the great Tolya!!

Feb-10-13 Tal vs Ivkov, 1956 (replies)

kasparvez: It was after this game Ivkov published an article with the prophetic title: "Tal: Remember this name"!

Dec-19-12 Korchnoi vs Simagin, 1960 (replies)

kasparvez: 9...Nxd5 and Black is alright, not even a pawn down [10.cxd5 Bxd2 11.Qxd2 exd5] . So what's the issue here??

   Nov-21-12 Morphy vs J Schulten, 1857 (replies)

kasparvez: Ah! Schulten gives a good fight! 22...Bxa2? You can't play that against Morphy!

   Nov-19-12 Jose Raul Capablanca (replies)

kasparvez: A very happy Birthday to the Chess Machine! Capa Rules! :)

Nov-04-12 Karpov - Fischer World Championship Match (1975) (replies)

kasparvez: The problem with Fischer fans is that they see everything but they don't see that it's Fischer and Fischer only who is responsible for the match not taking place. Leave Karpov in peace guys, he has justified himself to be more than a worthy successor of your god.

Nov-02-12 Dan Hill vs P Tart, 1996 (replies)

kasparvez: Lemon Tart

Oct-26-12 Kasparov vs Pribyl, 1980 (replies)

kasparvez: Kasparov, while annotating Bronstein vs Keres, 1955 and scrutinising White's 14th move [14. Bxh6!!] says: "Bronstein recalls that later many of the tournament participants spent a long time trying to demonstrate that the bishop sacrifice was incorrect; Geller was especially ...
