Jun-02-09 Aronian vs Leko, 2009 (replies)

likestofork: 54) Qg8+. That'll do donkey. That'll do.

   Jun-01-09 Nezhmetdinov vs P Romanovsky, 1956

likestofork: When the final resting place for Black's dark-squared bishop is d8, Black's winning percentage sort of sucks. Probably comparable to Rice vs. Texas in football.

Dec-07-07 Miles vs Timman, 1984 (replies)

likestofork: <King Two to the Twentieth> The big deal is that the Ka-nig-it is under attack twice with the possibility of only be protected once. So the Ka-nig-it is forced to move, in this case to one of only 5 squares. Not one of the 5 moves will not result in a non-lost game. ...

Nov-19-07 Greco vs NN, 1620 (replies)

likestofork: OTB I played a patzer with no name, Not smart enough to get out of the rain..... Little known fact...Greco is Spanish for "chess-bully".

Oct-29-07 Von Der Lasa vs Staunton, 1853 (replies)

likestofork: Not that I'm suspicious or anything, but my suspicion is that the move was 15...Qd8, and not 15...Qe8

Oct-05-07 M Cardinali vs Zsofia Polgar, 1989 (replies)

likestofork: <underdoggum> Maybe more stable than psychotic, power-hungry chimpanzees spending billions upon uncounted billions of dollars on weapons that, if used, would assure the destruction of all sides, but after black moves Rf7, white's response of Nxf5+ should be sufficient ...

Sep-07-07 Napoleon Bonaparte vs The Turk, 1809 (replies)

likestofork: < keres777: Don't know if this would be a good GoTD, but a nice pun would be : 'Battle of Waterloo'. :-) > Considering we have a Turk and a Christian, and adding to that the level of play, how about 'The Patzer's Crusade'?

   Aug-04-07 Onischuk vs N Vekshenkov, 2004

likestofork: Either I'm confused, or the game score's wrong somewhere, but what would be wrong with 24....Nxf4+? Considering that the B was hanging in subsequent moves (26....Nxf4+ picks up a rook and pawn, or a couple of bishops), and these guys aren't total patzers, I'm saying game score. ...

Jul-30-07 Short vs Harikrishna, 2007 (replies)

likestofork: <savagerules: You sure this was really Nigel Short (2683) or some 1600 rated player impersonating him?> Actually, it was the ghost of Tony Miles possessing Nigel at an opportune moment.

   Jul-25-07 I Krush vs K B Richardson, 2007 (replies)

likestofork: <bogo78> 30....Be7 31 Nxb7
