|Aug-10-17|| ||OhioChessFan: I'm ahead of anyone in any ranker?? Shocked, shocking!!|
I came here and fully expected to be in line for a Triple Clown. I picked Carlsen pretty low, which is the only thing I did right.
|Aug-10-17|| ||WannaBe: <OhioChessFan> I scrolled back and re-examined your predictions. You'd be in great shape if you just reversed the order of the players.|
|Aug-10-17|| ||Penguincw: < Wow the world upside down? This tournament is so crazy, that <Penguincw> with "opposite" predictions is first in the Pair betting Ranker with 5 potential Jackpots(albeit last in the Standard ranker)!! :D >|
Well you know, Sinquefield and Tata Steel tend to be the most unpredictable ones. Although the tournament is not over yet, if I did pull off my "proper" predictions, would that mean I would be first in Standard, but last in Betting (that's rarity in <GE>'s contest for sure)?
And well, considering I'm 4th last in Square Ranker, maybe I should have pulled off my proper predictions. Although I don't think that's how the contest works...
|Aug-10-17|| ||WinKing: Who called it <Penguincw>? ;)|

|Aug-12-17|| ||lostemperor: Congratulations to <alfamikewhiskey> and <Penguincw> for winning the Gold in these contests! |
<Penguincw> scoring five Jackpots with socalled reverse predictions. Something maybe more should try (including me) <;)
No triple Clown for top predictor <WannaBe> but once again at the podium scoring (double) Silver!
Bronze for <Keyser Soze>,
<whiteshark>, <wordfunph> and <Aurora>!
|Aug-12-17|| ||lostemperor: I missed this year's top tournament but thanks all for making your predictions so this prediction game could go on! I will make the update of the Hall of Fame as soon as I have more time|
|Aug-12-17|| ||WannaBe: Thank you <lostemperor> for hosting another unpredictable prediction contest!|
|Aug-12-17|| ||Keyser Soze: Hey thanks a bunch for the effort <lostemperor>! |
Gotta a nice bronze :)
|Aug-12-17|| ||offramp: I am obviously very sad at finishing so lasty last last., but I'm also amazed by PenguinCW's mad world payout!|
|Aug-12-17|| ||offramp: Many thanks to LostEmperor and congrats to all the winners.|
lostemperor that was a lot of fun!
|Aug-12-17|| ||Penguincw: Hey! It actually worked. Well, no one likes to give out their secrets, but I just did. But it worked. I'll definitely try this again. Sinquefield and Tata, just way too unpredictable. It won't always work, but I can't stop anyone else from trying this as well.|
And yes <WinKing>, you were the first to call it. :) I do have to wonder how I would fare if I made "real" predictions. Oh well.
"Only" 5 jackpots won, but a whopping $123.72. Went better than I thought.
I believe this is my 6th gold medal, which would put me at like 3rd. The HOF is not updated, hard to tell.
Thanks for hosting. Congrats to <alfamikewhiskey> for the Double Crown. <WannaBe>, the king of this contest, picks up a silver. Congrats to the other winners, and hope to see you next time, which I imagine will be LCC in late November. See you then!
|Aug-12-17|| ||WinKing: Thanks for a great contest <lostemperor>!
I am sorry you missed the start to get your predictions in.|
Congratulations to all of the medalists! This was a hard one to call. Special grats to <Penguincw> on his unusual...no 'revolutionary' way of making it to the top of the podium picking up a gold. I liked it! ;) Top honors goes to <alfamikewhiskey> who is playing well in all of the prediction games! Two more golds(Double Crown) are added to his accomplishments. More importantly, IMO, is that he is now a member of the
'Hat Trick' club(at least one gold medal in all 3 of the prediction contests). You are now the 18th member of this very elite club - well done!
|Aug-12-17|| ||alfamikewhiskey: Thank you, <lostemperor>, for the contest and congratulations to the medallists (medalists?). |
Lucky with the predictions this time, I'm beaming about being a <member of the 'Hat Trick' club> :) Thanks for that piece of information, <WinKing>.
|Aug-13-17|| ||Golden Executive: Thanks <lostemperor> for your efforts running the contest.|
Congratulations to all the medal winners and welcome <alfamikewhiskey> to the <Hat Trick club>. Well done!!
See you guys next time.
|Aug-14-17|| ||OhioChessFan: Thanks Yoda. Just for kicks, I reversed my picks and discovered I'd have won gold in the Absolute Ranker. And I'd have shared all the jackpots <Penguin> hit. Maybe I'll make my picks next time, flip a coin to see if I'll use them or reverse them. Can't do any worse than my recent performances.|
|Nov-08-17|| ||WannaBe: <lostemperor> You are doing London Classic, yes? Schedule released:|
|Nov-14-17|| ||positionalgenius: Are you doing something for London Chess Classic?|
|Nov-22-17|| ||lostemperor: Yes, London chess super tournament fast approaching December 1 for your predictions (and a year's update to do for me :))!|
