mac277train: Article 58 of the Russian SFSR Penal Code was put in force in 1927 to arrest those suspected of counter-revolutionary activities. The article led to the imprisonment of many prominent people, as well as multitudes of nonnotable innocents. Sentences were long, up to 25 years, and
