| Calli: Fritz Krueger is working on the Norwegian players, but his last email said "Ich habe es total vermasselt!". Well, he is 86 years old... Jorgen Moller played in the Hauptturnier "A" at Hanover 1902, finished 9th-11th out of 22. The "B" Hauptturnier was 28 players in 4 sections. |

I like the name You had chosen for the forum. Modest and yet so patriotic. Way to go my friend. Btw guys, great research work You're doing. |

| Calli: Martin, the book with pictures of the tournaments is 'De Nordiska Schackkongresserna', Stockholm 1897, Copenhagen 1899 and Göteborg 1901. Annotations by Orla Herman Krause, Andreas Christian Rosendahl and Fritz Englund. Perhaps you can order through your local library. Our researcher, Bakhuyzen in Rotterdam, unfortunately lost his auction bid for the book just last month. He sends a picture only, http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/phot... |

| brankat: <martin moller> Regarding the book: Are all 3 Nordic Championships (1897, '99, and 1901) covered in one book? I thought it was 3 separate books ($100 each). If it is all in one, then $100 is a good deal for such a work, I think. |

| Calli: World Wide Researcher Anyi, our expert on Rubinstein, had the same problem with "cheep" website. The solution was to embed Picassa, which is free, in the web page. Go to http://rubina.yfw24.de/ and click "Gallery" and the link. |

| Calli: A little chess with relatives. Mainly just turkey and wine :-o. Amazing that Møllerstrøm published the book so early and at such a young age. |

| brankat: <Anyi> In 1911 the lands of today's Check Republic, where Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary) was/is, were a part of Austro-Hungarian Empire, with German being the official language. It is like very probable that there is an "original" book about the Tournament in German. Perhaps even in Check. It's highly unlikely that such a great tournament of 1911 would have been written about in Danish first. |

| ahmadov: I have had a quick look at your web site, but since it is rich and very interesting I will need more time to explore it. I will then post something on the guestbook.
My first thought was that it would be great if users from various countries on this web site could create web sites about the history of chess in their countries. I know <percy> has a nice web site as well, but as far as I remember, it is about women and chess... |

| Calli: Martin, check the usual Picassa album. http://picasaweb.google.com/Caissa1... Apparently, from what Spanish I could understand, Fritz is off mountain climbing in Peru. Leticia noticed a loose computer cable and scanned in the papers nearby. All Icelandic players! There is even a Moller in there. |

| Benzol: Hi Martin. Thanks for the note on my forum. It wasn't me who stayed with Jens Enevoldsen but New Zealander Ewen McGowen Green He must have stayed with him after the 1969 World Junior Championship so I'd say it was around 1969 - 1970. Good luck with the Chess Journal. :) |

| brankat: Hi Martin.
I was very glad to hear from You again my friend!
Delivering mail, and meeting a whole lot of people at the same time, is probably much more interesting then binding books. Besides, in this era of the Internet, hardly anyone seems to be reading books anyway :-) Listening to the 50s rock&roll? I didn't even know they had Rock in the fifties :-) For the most part, I call the music of the Fifties: "heartless". |
