I live in Bangalore, India. I play on playchess.com with a rating of around 1960. My favourite players are Anand and Kasparov.

I like to play openings which promise complicated positions (which give me a 50-50 chance of winning), rather than playing positional lines.

Dec-28-17 World Rapid Championship (2017) (replies)

mkrk17: Way to go Vishy. The original lightning kid.

Dec-04-17 Carlsen vs Anand, 2017 (replies)

mkrk17: All are tired at the end of the year and looking forward to the year end holidays. So all we're getting is draws.

Nov-27-16 Carlsen - Karjakin World Championship (2016) (replies)

mkrk17: I do hope chess world championship gets better in the sense that we have 24 games World championship match. Not only that, the candidates cycle needs to be longer. I guess the last of those days was in 1995 and 1998 when Anand qualified to play against Kasparov and Karpov. Maybe the ...

Nov-21-16 Carlsen vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)

mkrk17: I think Karjakin managed to get into carlsen's nerves in the last 7 games. He found a way to draw his games thanks to his resilient defending talents. Now its upto Carlsen to relax his mind and play each game as though its a new and fresh game. He shd not get irritated that Karjakin ...

   Sep-11-16 Chess Olympiad (2016) (replies)

mkrk17: Any idea why Anand is not playing for India. The Indian team is so far doing very well and could definitely do much better with Anand. In yester years, Anand used to decline playing olympiad because the team was so weak something like the Norway team today. But of late the Indian ...

Apr-28-16 Carlsen vs Kramnik, 2016 (replies)

mkrk17: Nce play by carlsen, dominating the position just by using the f5 square. Awesome positional play !!

Apr-10-16 World Championship Candidates (2016) (replies)

mkrk17: Why does the media keep saying that Anand was scared of Kasparov and scared of Magnus. Ridiculous media. If they were better players than him, then they won, as simple as that. Kasparov had access to many more resources than Anand in 1995 and add that with all the door banging which ...

Mar-26-16 Nakamura vs Anand, 2016 (replies)

mkrk17: <John Abraham: Even though I am a devout Anand fan I must admit that he does not deserve to win this tournament after losing three games (vs Karjakin, Caruana, and Nakamura).> Carlsen similarly lost 2 games in the candidates 2013.

Mar-25-16 Anand vs Karjakin, 2016 (replies)

mkrk17: Nice to see Vishy make points out of the endgames. This is the kind of training he needs before meeting MC.

Mar-13-16 Topalov vs Aronian, 2016 (replies)

mkrk17: Age is getting onto Topa. Its funny that he said in 2010 that the difference between him and Vishy is -5 i.e he is 5 years younger than Vishy. But now looks like age has already caught up with him while age has not yet done much injury to Vishy's play.
