   Sep-14-12 A Hodges vs Lasker, 1892

paladin at large: Attractive play by Lasker fixing the white pawns on e4 and c4, exchanging off the major pieces and leaving white with a bad ending. Hodges was a strong player but looks helpless from an early stage.

   Jul-14-12 G Nagy vs Maroczy, 1928 (replies)

paladin at large: <visayanbraindoctor> The game you show, and this one here, show Maróczy to be a cool defender. Interesting here how Nagy offers to sacrifice the exchange of both rooks.

   Apr-24-12 A Lastin vs K Maslak, 2008 (replies)

paladin at large: Why not 18. Ra4

   Mar-30-12 M Monticelli vs Yates, 1926

paladin at large: Very interesting pressure by Monticelli. The e-file is fairly clogged after 14. Rae1 but, before long White has a protected advanced passed pawn on the e-file and makes Black uncomfortable. 29...Bb2 looks like exasperation.

Feb-07-12 Capablanca vs Tartakower, 1938 (replies)

paladin at large: A great find and story. The handwriting on the Hotel Regina stationery appears to be the same as that of Capa's score in one of his WCM games against Alekhine. Excellent work, especially by Winter.

   Feb-06-12 Max Euwe (replies)

paladin at large: Pronunciation: Here you can hear both Capablanca and Han Hollander (a Dutchman) pronounce Euwe's name. http://www.geschiedenis24.nl/speler... I apologize if this has already been presented here; it was over on the Lasker link.

Feb-05-12 Capablanca vs Alekhine, 1927 (replies)

paladin at large: No. 29 Capablanca vs Alekhine, 1927

   Feb-04-12 Jose Raul Capablanca (replies)

paladin at large: <TheFocus> That is great - thank you & Winter. Are you uploading the game?

Jan-18-12 Maroczy vs Spielmann, 1908 (replies)

paladin at large: Steady exploitation of the open file.

   Jan-14-12 Capablanca vs R T Black, 1918

paladin at large: Shades of Maróczy with Capa's marauding queen.
