   Feb-17-10 R Mateo vs C Cuartas Bedoya, 1984 (replies)

sileps: David2009; thanks for that link. This is pretty instructive for inexperienced people like myself that need to learn themselves how to beat QvR-endgames.

   Feb-14-10 Z Gofshtein vs M D Tseitlin, 1991 (replies)

sileps: Typo: 18..Kg8 not h8.

   Feb-13-10 K V Shantharam vs Kaidanov, 1991 (replies)

sileps: scormus, yes he is, unless I'm wrong again. Hence my "scratch that black has defenses to Rg5+"-comment. =)

   Feb-09-10 Keres vs E E Book, 1952 (replies)

sileps: 20.Bxd5 has to be better than the text move. It does several things to help white's position; opens up a file for the rook and eliminates one of black's strong knights. Best reply for black is probably 20..Bxd5 and then white plays 21.Nf6+, I think this causes black some trouble.

   Feb-08-10 D Andreikin vs Bezgodov, 2010 (replies)

sileps: 16..Rxc3 is a mistake I think. You there RV? :(

   Feb-07-10 J Sloth vs W Watson, 1991 (replies)

sileps: This was actually pretty straight forward, I saw the first move within 10 seconds or so. Paradoxically, this and saturday's puzzle were the only two I managed to solve. :(

   Jan-27-10 Kasimdzhanov vs H Hofstra, 2004 (replies)

sileps: I don't know why this took me more than 3 minutes to figure out. I guess I overlooked it the first time around because it was too easy for a wednesday

Jan-21-10 Spassky vs Fischer, 1972 (replies)

sileps: Seems like both fischer and spassky put unnatural effort into winning this particular game, fischer's play after 61.Bf8 is just unbelievable

   Jan-11-10 E Eliskases vs T Borges, 1946 (replies)

sileps: 37..Rxe4 wins a bishop for black after 38.Rxe4 ..Bd5. On a side note, 35..Bd5 is a much stronger move than the text move unless I'm missing something.

Dec-21-09 Kasparov vs Kramnik, 2001 (replies)

sileps: Very creative play by Kasparov, I like it
