Oct-19-11 Morphy vs Anderssen, 1858 (replies)

skcin: This game reminds me of a Fischer Reshevsky game where the "rusty" Reshevsky got his queen snagged by a trap Bobby found in an obscure russian chess magazine. I might make a small study of morphy's losses, since there are only 26. If I become wiser I look forward to receiving and ...

skcin: I notice that the open lines anderssen uses here is very similiar to morphy's usual play... Was anderssen using morphy's weapons against him ????? Yo Hablo espanol muy mallo. If I can find my spanish books I will try to become muy bien. If I can't I plan on studying the lanquage ...

skcin: Thank you for the info--- The answers I needed given without making me feel foolish. Champagne wishes and chess dreams. Good luck in your games unless you play me

skcin: I think as much as is in me is, I might make this one of my mantras, like the game of the century. Like the game vs the allies. I am taking my own medicine. Live long and prosper my fellow chessplayers

skcin: I don't know how much-- or little he felt about chess, but I know he played the african strategy game of yote.-- I am going to look it up in about two minutes

Sep-28-11 Morphy vs Le Carpentier, 1849 (replies)

skcin: To me part of the beauty of morphy's play is that a great deal of the beauty is more on the surface. I do of course acknowledge the depth that is there too-- like picasso paintings one can sort of feel the beauty. There is something in these games for players of every level.

Sep-28-11 Judit Polgar vs F Berkes, 2003 (replies)

skcin: Re confusedpatzer. I beg to differ, but kasparov has become a busy politico I am not up to all his political work, but he is not a dense person with his politics... With Fischer your statement stands.

skcin: I do not know why his rating here is 2600+, when for years in chess life was 2700+. ?????

   Sep-26-11 A Mengarini vs Fischer, 1957

skcin: Since Mr Memgarini " encouraged " young Fischer it is nice to see this draw between them.. Just seems satisfying on an emotional level

skcin: Has anyone out there seen this game ?? Now it makes sense why chess life gave him some space
