But i see where Marvin Miller died. as a kid i was not a fan of free agency. i missed not having all the lineups memorized because players stayed put. However salaries were a joke. Players had jobs in the off-season. Jim Bunning refereed basketball games...Kaline was a teamster etc...Miller said it best when asked about his contribution..."Once it was a plantation. I always like Albert, got a lot of bad press but... Capablanca...now the librarian at Broadmoor was Cuban.She told me her dad or grandad would play chess with him. kinda neat. Talked to Ryan yesterday. He's ready to stay home and be a full time dad. Sitting the bench not for him. 3 small children and wants another.We would go see him whenever his team would play the Astros, he would get my family out on the field for BP and that was a thrill for my boy every year.
