| | Aug-25-12 Szigethy vs L Deak, 1988
| |
the eel: Thats a nice trap, easy to fall into if you are not alert. After 10 gxf3 the position offers black compensation for the pawn.Does anyone know how strong szigethy is/was?

| |
the eel: I'm not saying that 4 Bd3 is a strong move just that the reply Nxd4 is an alternative to g6 a fact which is not mentioned in my books. You are right though Parisattack most games I have played go 3 PxP and not e5 unfortunately.

the eel: Why did white resign? He his not losing this position, is he?

| | Mar-03-12 Alekhine vs Flohr, 1932
| |
the eel: The d pawn is poisoned ( 18 Bxd4?). Best seems to be 18 - Rb8 but white is still on top after 19 g3 fxg 20 hxg.A good example of the latent power of the Colle system.

| | Dec-30-11 Skembris vs S Mariotti, 1981
| |
the eel: In this line 2 Bg2 is a mistake, white should play 2 d3 to answer h5 with g5.

| | Dec-28-11 M Basman vs Keene, 1981
| |
the eel: I feel 4 d3 followed by Nf3 is a better system for white. He can castle and play c4 but the black squares on the kingside are a problem, especially the f4 square.

| | Dec-23-11 Bacrot vs Thierry Audin, 2011
| |
the eel: I presume black lost on time.
| | Jul-30-11 P Cramling vs Short, 2011
| |
the eel: Nice game. Nigel Short does handle the Chigorin very well.Maybe White should have tried 23 b5.

| | Jan-17-11 A Gude vs Keene, 1973
| |
the eel: No Gude moves from white here.
