Not really a good chess player. Like to play. Have many questions. Live in Lakewood, CA. born in 1955. Teach science and coach tennis at a high school. No rating. Don't know enough to have a favorite player. Like Karpov's strategy.

tvanw55: Here is a question for cyruslaihy and others: you wrote down the moves from the game from memory afterwards. How did you train yourself to be able to do this? Is there a maximum number of moves and or games that you can memorize? How long will this game, I mean all the exact moves ,

tvanw55: Just finished Pandolfini's Target Practice. I am a lousy chess player. This book helped out my game immensely. It is clear explanation of tactics. Also entertaining and not too difficult.

tvanw55: Dumb question: how does strategy during speed games and speed game tournaments differ from non speed games and tournaments?
