moronovich: Good evening my dear !

Well it is comforting for me to see you sound satisfied with the course for now and that must be a good sign.I think.

So let us enjoy the games at Sinquefield wich I suppose you also follow!? Certainly a lot of action and something completely different compared to classic chess, which will start on Friday perhaps/I think ?

Temperatures are lowering here and it is
some of the best verson of daylight I know of.Also it is better for the sleep when it is colder.

Till next time : take care and to good health.

Many hugs and auf wiedersehen !

virginmind: Hi my dear, Im currently trying to cope with a 10-13 degrees sudden decrease in temperature outside, and its not bad, were it not for an (admittedly light) flu which wont go away after getting out of hospital on Friday morning. The problem being mainly that, while Im having this condition, I cant get a general anesthesia, so will have to postpone some more. Meantime, the (bilateral) hernia grew bigger, for some reason - although no important pain whatsoever. Ill keep you updated with the developments.

St. Louis ended yesterday with Aronian winning it, bravo for this recovery of form! Also MVL took second, but this was to be expected. Ill keep quiet on the lack of form of a certain Norwegian...:) It, of course, happen to all of us from time to time...And, just like you, Im waiting for Sinquefield.

Thanks, <WinKing> for the reminder, but Il probably skip this one.

Your welcome <virginmind>. Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. God speed with your recovery.

virginmind: Thank you, <WinKing>, its gonna be all right.

  moronovich: Good evening dear !

Sounds like your are in a tough waiting situation , or ? And a flu to boot ): I guess Maria will be nursing you with extra care and in the meantime Ill one again send you all my best wishes for endurance patience, optimism and recovering.

Some nice distraction could be to go to Chessbase and read tle latest about Kramnik training all these indian talents ! At least I found it moving and inspiring and for some minutes I dreamed I was 15 again.Or just able to go there and listen and learn !

Well the oven is filled with interesting stuff and someones gonna make it.And that someone is me :)

Take care and also hugs to Maria with the hope for a fine weekend !

virginmind: Hello, flu's almost gone and thank's for the kind wishes. Still wait to see if I decide to go to surgery or not. In the mean time, I've got to 2121 rating on Chessbase tactics. Mind you, the best rated there is about 4000 points, so no relation to ELO ;) But I'm improving.

Not much going on else, how about you? Of course, watching a bit Sinquefield with it's latest draws.

moronovich: God evening my dear !

And sorry for being late, but I have also struggled with some colon issues. The message came from the doctor yesterday that it was nothing grave so it was a relieved me with sweet dreams last night !

Followed the play off today with a very impressive and deserved win for Ding Liren.Especially the last blitz game with Ba8 and Ne7.Wauw.Did you see it ?

The partisans still working outside but in around 2 weeks they will move on to the next houses and the space, inner and outer should become more silent and less claustrophobic.Pheww.. :)

And I sincerely hope you will find the best solution about surgery or not.Definately a very big decission !

Glad to hear you can feel you improve on tactics.Nice feeling, nicht wahr !?

Summer has been visting us against, which is quite typical for the end of August.Another visitor was KJ who passed through today and we had some fine chats after 3 weeks break due to the beforementioned colon.

Wife is lovely as ever and in a few minutes Ill wake her up and tell it is sleeping time:)

Nice talking to you again and send you all my best wishes, also for the health and your important decission

Au revoir.

Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: Hello <moronovich>, it's funny that upon reading about the 'partisans' I'm being evoked either some fighting fellows in the WW2, or some people prone to giving/going to parties. Of course, you're referring to the workers who will soon move a bit farther away from your house :) Works need be done around. Hrere to we're expecting a renovation of our street and sidewalk, which are included in a larger scale work of this type. Of course, cars will need to be moved away, hopefully ours will find a place behind the block of flats, in an inner courtyard. And we expect a lot of noise etc. But it can't be helped, I guess.

I wrote something about the surgery in your forum, it's most likely going to be postponed. Quite great last summer day here, lovely actually (for my taste, at least :).

All the best to you and Hannah and enjoy a quiet weekend.

  moronovich: Good evening <virginmind> !

Artisan is the right word.I think :) But with the noise they are making there is some warlike situation there

Sounds like a splendid idea with that Norway trip and what fine tips you may have got from <Diademas>.And if just some of the norwegians are as helpfull as him, happy days are in fromt of you :)

Hope you will get well through your renovation and more important that yoy will make the right decision about your operation ! A tough call it sounds like !?

Here in DK we have a rather high succesratio concerning colon operations,as far as I have understood. One I may (also?) need some day..
These days it is the most irritated it has ever been- e.g..Today I was going to see JWH,everything packed and ready. But no cigar ):

Otherwise the mind is working fine and
this latesummer almost autum weather is a delight !

Also all the best to you and Maria and how is she doing these days btw ?

Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: Hi, we're back from a small trip Iasi-Tulcea-Mahmudia-Danube Delta-Galati-Onesti-Iasi. Splendid weather all along and no issues whatsoever linked to hernia (haven't decided yet on the surgery). The boat trip within the delta was just beautiful, it's the first time we've been there.

Sorry to hear about your colon problems, and about the headaches, I hope they will soon be alleviated or even cured.

Maria is quite well, thank you, we've been enjoying these latter days of early autumn, still warm and sunshine and all was so nice during our trip. Please send all the best to Hannah from our part.

Tomorrow the World Cup is starting, again in Khanty Mansiysk, so the joy continues. Hugs.

virginmind: Great, Nisi's going into 3rd round of the World Cup after beating Nakamura 1.5/0.5!
Premium Chessgames Member
moronovich: Good evening dear <virginmind> !

What an upset and congratulations to Nisi
for making it to next round !

Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: Thank you my friend, it's been interesting, indeed, to watch those games. And how are you, enjoying the weekend? Here it was the first day of real autumn, as the sky turned grey and temperatures dropped - although not much.

No bad signs from my hernia, so surgery keeps being postponed, the longer the better - I hope. I try not to lift weights of more than 4-5 kilos, and abstein from other real physical effort.

moronovich: Good evening and good night !

Well it has been one of the good days and I enjoy it very much.Cousy times with Hannah and the last part of the big mountains in Spain.A thrilling stage today with one of the most talented riders I have ever seen:Podgacar from Slovenia who added one more impressing victory to the 2 he had already.

Autum is also approaching and just before on my little night promenade I wore a hut :).Hope we will have a real winter, which doesnt necessary translate to Draculas country, nest pas !? :)

And so good to hear about your condition. Please keep it that way !

So tomorow the chess in Russia shall have a go and Ill try to come into the tournament.

Hugs too from here and from Hannah as well.

virginmind: Hi <moronovich>, sorry for the delay. It's been all right most of the time. Since last night, rain and cold here, autumn has arrived. I've played quite a few chess games, with the usual results. Radjabov has just won the World Cup, wpw! Congrats to him. Getting ready to get myself engulfed in the reading/writing requirements for my job, as in each Octomber, probably going to take quite a few months - with some occasional breaks.

Maria is fine too, thank you, and we return the hugs to both of you. Please have an excellent weekend.

moronovich: Good evening my dear !

Just a short notice to say I am still alive :) Due to some really annoying colon issue(s) I have been laying low, lack of energy and so forth.Have been to the doctor trice, but they can not figure it out for the moment. But it is not something dangerously

Anyway while Hannah is hosting some friends from her happy dancing days I am enjoying the coverage from Isle of Man.Amd omg,I have never seen an open with such a high standard and the whole place seems to breathe chess and it is higly recommended :)

Autum is looming and in the meanwhile the october sunshine is like a gift to all of us.Like sitting on a cousy pub and the landlord decides to let the place stay open for one or two more hours.

I hope you will find the energy to do the readings for the job ! It is an every year procedure, nst pas !?

Mashed potatoes with chicken sausages is next, while Hannah and her companions are having a finer dinner :) (They are in another house)

Hope you both enjoy life as much as possible and please recieve my greetings.

Take care et au revoir !

Diademas: <virginmind: Hi <Diademas>, what about the third part - Bergen and its surroundings - from the description of the places we plan to visit in June, that you so kindly provided? >

Sorry for my tardiness. I've been kind of busy, so I simply forgot.
I will have something for you during the weekend. Regards.

Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: That's great! Take your time, no hurry.
And one more think: is it true what they say, that I would need an umbrella?
Premium Chessgames Member
Diademas: If the weather is anything like now you should probably consider getting yourself laminated. ;)
June tends to be better.
Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: Sorry to hear about your persistent colon problems, <moronovich>. I know that these can be bothersome, as I used to have some issues of my own, on that part of the body. They were resolved, for the most part (as I think I told you) after keeping a vegetarian diet for quite a few years. I really hope that together with your doctor you will find the best plan to solve the problem.

Right, autumn is quite gentle and sunny so far here too, and of course I like it like that. Maria has again left for Onesti and I am getting ready for the Isle of Man show. I remember yesterday I just opened a bit the video relay and the camera was on Anand's game and it stayed there for some time; I wasn't listening for the commentary, but thought: hm, Vishy's probably about to give a hard time to that fellow...And this morning just found the news: he in fact lost to Evgheny Najer!

Hugs and best of luck for this weekend.

Premium Chessgames Member
virginmind: <Diademas>, right, at first we've planned a road trip within the Alps, but I read it's rainy in June, and drier in Sept. So we switched to Norway, where I found the contrary: less rain in June, as compared to Sept. In May also, and housing could get cheaper, but it should be colder.

Of course, in the mountains it's never safe to predict the weather, not even a week before. And in addition to rain, fog may ruin most of the landscape view. But maybe we'll get lucky :) See you around.

By the way, it's Romania-Norway at football in a few days. Let's hope for a great result! ;)

Premium Chessgames Member
  Diademas: Haven't forgotten about you.
Just a bit delayed.
Premium Chessgames Member
  virginmind: Nothing to worry.

moronovich: Good afternoon dear <virginmind> !

I am on IoM for the moment and once again enjoying the tramission and not least the fact that so many players are there instaed of the usual suspects.

And thanks for your kind words regarding the colon issues. And glad that the vegetarian diet did help you.I am neither not eating much meat, but nevertheless your words are of inspiration.

So you have semisummer temperatures :)
I know you like it! Here it is a litttle sunny and grey which resembles a lot what it is "supposed" to be.Good for indoor activities, such as chess :)

That was just a short update, but I should pass hugs from Hannaha and me too.

Take care and see you around!
