   Feb-06-11 G Name vs D Di Berardino, 2008 (replies)

zenithooligan: Can anybody explain why 15 Bb5 doesn't just hang a piece?

   Jan-05-11 E Keogh vs J Killane, 2007 (replies)

zenithooligan: 15. Na4 seems pretty standard in this position. who knows why this game is over. maybe it wasn't recorded anymore.

   Aug-19-10 J Becerra-Rivero vs W Arencibia, 1995

zenithooligan: Maybe I am too easily impressed, but this seems like an incredibly sharp game.

May-11-10 Topalov vs Anand, 2010 (replies)

zenithooligan: GM Short- I am for more games for sure. perhaps the old 24 is a bit unrealistic but at least 16 or 18. that way you really get to watch the development of the ideas over time..like whether one's opening prep stands up, etc.etc..12 is just too short. i am afraid financial ...

Apr-25-10 Anand vs Topalov, 2010 (replies)

zenithooligan: did anand mishandle preparation? does he have an idea that we aren't seeing. it's hard to think he would sacrifice a pawn to attain this. perhaps he draws this but i can't imagine he would have been playing for a draw.

   Nov-20-09 V Sikula vs Paschall, 2005

zenithooligan: I have been studying this variation of the scandinavian. not sure how sound it is for black...it looks pretty tenuous after 10. d5- white seems to have a huge spacial advantage. this is one of the few games i could find in which black wins out of this position.

Nov-08-09 Macieja vs Ponomariov, 1997 (replies)

zenithooligan: Bb5! I think this is the first Sunday puzzle I have gotten all year....it makes me feel like it was a bit of a weaker Sunday puzzle. by the way, i agree that 0-0-0 also wins for white. black is rather miserably developed and with a poorly placed queen.

Nov-06-09 Kramnik vs Anand, 2009 (replies)

zenithooligan: thank you pawn, i see that now...i guess that's why i am sitting here at my computer with a beer and they are the ones playing chess :)

   May-11-09 C Airapetian vs T Abrahamyan, 2008 (replies)

zenithooligan: Good call Gameoverziggy on 33 Qxf5....not a complicated combination by any means.
