   Apr-09-11 Karpov vs Kiril Georgiev, 1994 (replies)

WickedPawn: The first two moves looked very appealing to me (the double bishop and knight sacrifice hitting the pinned rook on f7) but the follow up with 32. Re8! is very hard to spot.

   Oct-14-10 Campora vs R Cifuentes, 2004 (replies)

WickedPawn: As <gofer> mentions, doesn't 25. Qb7+ (followed by 26. Bb8) lead to the same outcome?

   Aug-25-10 Timman vs Seirawan, 1978 (replies)

WickedPawn: This is considered by GM Seirawan as one of his best games. He considers 25. Ke2!? as the start of a dubious plan by Timman, expecting 25. Kf3 instead. He puts exclamation marks to 27. ...,Nb6! and white's reply: 28. b3!. Interesting stuff.

   Jul-05-10 G Degrave vs D Dupuis, 2003 (replies)

WickedPawn: For all of us without a chess engine: Can anybody say, in a nutshell, whether all those sacrifices are sound or just mere speculation?

   Jun-29-10 G Kluger vs Nagy, 1942 (replies)

WickedPawn: No pieces have been exchanged and yet the two white knights overpower the entire black's 1st and 2nd ranks. Unbelievable.

   May-11-10 Anand-Topalov World Chess Championship (2010) (replies)

WickedPawn: Congratulations to Anand for keeping the title! I had some doubts about possible fool play on Topalov's side but know I take it all back. All my respect for Topalov. He is a great fighter.

   Feb-04-10 R Wojtaszek vs M Bartel, 2010

WickedPawn: What a great game! White's king sneaked right into Black's stronghold. This was the only loss by Bartel in this tournament.

   Jan-21-10 Van Wely vs Shirov, 2010 (replies)

WickedPawn: <dagwood2005: Incredibly enough, 31. Bb8!! equalizes for white. 31... Rxb8 32. Rxe6! fxe6 33. Qxg4+ Kf8 34. Qf4+ Kg7 35. Qc7+ Kh6 36. Qxb8=> WOW! if he pulls that combination he would have been checked with a metal detector...

   Jun-17-09 L Bruzon vs L Dominguez, 2009 (replies)

WickedPawn: This is why chess will always have a hard time getting serious sponsorship.

   May-21-09 D Smerdon vs J Smeets, 2007

WickedPawn: This game smells fishy. Isn't 15. Nxc6 followed by 16. Bb5 an outright win for white? I don't have a chess engine so I'm not sure.
