I'm approximately contemporary with Nigel Short - to quote Sally Simpson, he and I went to different schools together; though as he played top board for Bolton and I rarely made bottom board for my school's second team, our paths have never crossed.

disasterion: Thanks Sally. Good points, and it's a nice trap. There's nothing wrong with a bit of old school paranoia...

   Feb-03-19 Rosenbaum vs D Fawcett, 1904

disasterion: This seems a premature resignation. Perhaps Fawcett had a train to catch... There must be better continuations than in W T Dickinson vs W P MacBean, 1904 - after 14.e6 Re8 I don't see that white can get anywhere.

disasterion: <KnightVBishop> Perhaps it's not trolling, but it isn't factual either. Using <fabelhaft>'s helpful chessfocus.com link, you can compare the three: Carlsen: http://www.chessfocus.com/tournamen... Caruana: http://www.chessfocus.com/tournamen... Nakamura: ...

disasterion: Re clue 38, I second the proposal to give it to <posoo> and have done.

disasterion: <Howard> If you change your pgn viewer from the default to, for example, pgn4web, you can see the rest of the game; though there are still a few glitches (eg white's 29th should be Nbc5).

disasterion: #17: Would never have got there without so much extra time to solve it in... After failing to get any of the other klus this time round, I still surprised no one beat me to it.
