jamesmaskell: I failed to give mate in a KBB v K endgame in over 60 moves with an opponent who as a rule refuses to resign a month or so ago. It ended by stalemate... A draw which felt like a traumatising loss. Its easy to judge given Ushenina's rating, but if you cant remember the ...

jamesmaskell: <watwinc> The players are playing very fast, particularly Ivanchuk. The position will be behind for a few minutes until they hit time control

jamesmaskell: Ive watched Carlsen play at London a couple of times and it does look like hes almost too relaxed, as if he was bored. At Tata recently it was the same thing. Each player has their own mannerisms, like Gelfand and his having to handle a pawn or Nakamura grumbling to himself...

jamesmaskell: From the look of todays live feed, Anatoly Karpov is playing White against Alekseev. Nice suprise this morning. Game kicks off in about 20 mins.
