Dec-26-04   lopium: This player is my uncle.
Dec-26-04   bigbear: When I was young in the 70's, he was IM, the only Frenchman with a Fide Title. he was quite a legend...I don't know how many GMs we have in France nowadays, but many of them are unknown to most players. Such was not Aldo Haïk.
Dec-26-04   lopium: Oh nice.
I played some games with him, recently. I lost all... Yeah, he has a IM title. Not a GM.
I wanna be very strong in chess! Like him, or best. It's hard. But i'm sure i can.
Mar-15-05   Runemaster: 'aldo, 'aldo!

<lopium> it's good you have an uncle with a FIDE title.

I am old enough that when I was in school lots of kids claimed that Bruce Lee was their uncle (about 1975, when kung fu films were very popular) even though most of them were not at all Chinese. Soon I will have to start saying things like "Hikaru Nakaramura is my nephew."

Oct-20-05   lopium: Oops, I missed his birthday for one day....
