iron maiden: <LittlePeasant> If you're really Alejandro Ramirez, then welcome to chessgames.com, and I'm sure you'll enjoy this site. Maybe you can teach us old geezers a thing or two! :-)

cu8sfan: According to User Profile: LittlePeasant he is 16 years old. The first game in this database is from 1990. I smell a rat...

acirce: There is obviously something wrong with that game, either it wasn't played in 1990 or it wasn't played by <LittlePeasant> (whom I don't doubt is really Ramirez, why not?)

cu8sfan: <acirce> I only doubted it because of the years covered. Now I see that there's only one game from 1990 and then it starts with 2001. That makes it much more likely. I only looked at cg.com's title without checking the individual games.

Sorry, <LittlePeasant> if I've done you wrong! And welcome to this site!

Sep-03-04   square dance: <little peasant> is on playchess.com playing nigel short right now(2:00 est) if anyone cares to watch.
Sep-04-04   LittlePeasant: lol was fun to play Short, beat him some guys at least... drew Adams too ;) hey this website looks pretty decent! Oh yeah and I have no idea about that 1990 game.
Sep-04-04   square dance: <littlepeasant> didnt adams leave the site after drawing with you?

Jan-30-05   Champ Supernova: Oh, Alejandro. 3/13 at Corus. His rating should dive to the 2480's.
Jan-30-05   hintza: <Champ Supernova> Yes, if my calculations are correct he has lost 24.6 rating points at Corus, giving him a rating of 2482 Of course, other games played between now and the April list could mean his rating in the April list will be higher/lower than this; I don't know if he is playing any more rated games between now and then.
Jan-30-05   PinkPanther: He completely tanked at Corus, which I knew he would. I know he visits this site from time to time, but I'm going to say it anyway. He had no business in the B group. There were even SEVERAL players in the C group that stood head and shoulders over him.
Jan-30-05   fgh: I remember that when I was in CostaRica in my old school, Ramirez gave a simul here. I didn't play chess by then. He won the simul +56 =0 -0 ;-) And he beated my previous math teacher in 9 moves ;-)
Jan-30-05   zorro: Hey LP! Nice to see you here :-)
Jan-30-05   WillC21: What a disaster for Alejandro. Absolutely crushed in Corus B. Flattened like an ant. Real pity.

Caissanist: Looks like Alejandro is concentrating more on his studies currently. He is now a freshman at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he is majoring in Physics. UTD seems to have become something of a hotbed of chess in recent years; he is only the second best player at that school, behind Magesh Chandran Panchanathan.

waustad: Does anybody know what happened in round 10 of the olympiad? He didn't play a game, though he was listed as first board. At first it was posted as a win for Costa Rica over the German team, but now it looks like 2-2. He isn't listed as playing in the last round.

Did "Tico time" mess him up? I dearly love Costa Rica, but promptness there is not the fetish it is in Germany. I recall seeing a notice that a train would be 5 minutes late, two hours before it arrived in Heidelberg. It arrived 5 minutes late, to the second, and was exactly 5 minutes late at every station all the way to Berlin, even with the East German guards getting on and searching. (It has been a while) This is inconceivable in Central America.
