Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-13-09   patzer of patzers: Alexander Obukhov--Born April 17, 1969. Became a GM in 2005. Tied for second at the International Chess Title tournament "Alushta Autumn-2005, IV" with a 9.5/13. In the Alushta Autumn-1 of 2008, he took 9th with a 5/11, and in the AA-5 of 2008, he took 3rd with a 8.5/14. In group A2 of the Aeroflot International Open chess tournament, he got 2.5 points (I think--only if that makes sense). Year unclear; in another year, he got 4 points.

I'm trying to dig deep here. In the IXth International Open Tournament Chigorin Memorial--October 25 - November 3, 2001 (which had massive ties everywhere), he tied for 5th with a 5.5/9.

Unfortunately, his rating is at its lowest in at least 9 1/2 years, probably more. Good luck, Obukhov! http://ratings.fide.com/card.phtml?... and everything else was google.
