Oct-13-09 | | Caissanist: When Kushnir left the Soviet Union for Israel, reportedly a condition for allowing her to emigrate was that she not participate in the upcoming women's world championship cycle. |

Feb-21-11 | | BLarsen1967: Alla Kushnir scored 5 out of 10 in Lone Pine 1975 (Vladimir Liberzon came clear first) - Here's an article on that charming tournament

Aug-11-11 | | brankat: Happy Birthday Alla! |
|
Aug-14-11 | | gulliver: Below are two links to tactics by Alla Kushnir . Credit to Chess Today Magazine and to the Susan Polgar Blog. Thanks both to Susan and to Alex Baburin and all the crew of the Chess today magazine for their wonderful job of promoting chess. Happy birthday to Alla! She represented Israel in the Olympiad in Haifa in 1973 , I believe. I think she played on board 1. And the Israeli women team made history by taking the first place. Luba Kristol was also in the Israeli team. I will never forget this honor to the Jewish people and to the state of Israel that these women gave. Again Best wishes for Alla Kushnir's Birthday!!! http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/201... http://susanpolgar.blogspot.com/201... |

|
Jan-30-16 | | whiteshark: <Eastfrisian> Stein was married with Liliya Kvecher since Sep. 22, 1962. There's a wedding photo in Gufeld's biography on <Leonid Stein - Master of Risk Strategy> on p. 53 They had at least one daughter, Alla,* but that is accidental. *photo of her w/Stein on p. 80, ibid |

 | | sachistu: Although it does not appear any of the games from her match with Maaja Ranniku are currently on this site, 7 games are given by ChessBase. However, ChessBase lists the year as 1967. I've been able to confirm that at least 3 of the games are from the 1970 playoff match following the Soviet women's championship. I suspect all 7 are part of the 1970 match. re: the Soviet newspaper Shakhmatny Moscow 1971 Issue 3. |

 | | sachistu: Just a follow up on my previous post... The 7 games ChessBase lists are all from the 1970 playoff match. I happened to notice Wikipedia listed the score as 4.5-3.5 with a note 'citation needed'. In fact, there were only 7 games played with Kushnir winning 4-3. See Shakhmatny Moscow 1971, Issue 5. |

Dec-29-23 | | Caissanist: If you are running into a problem with the site, you probably want to post to chessgames.com chessforum , which is basically the customer support/help page. |
