Jan-13-06   Bobak Zahmat: <petrovalovski: If you look at the level of his oppononts...> What are you talkin' about???? His ELO rating is 2086 and the average rating of the opponents is around 2160!!!
Jan-13-06   Bobak Zahmat: <ahmadov> He lived in Russia. He has studied International Law at University. At the moment he lives in Afghanistan. He travels a lot. He loves travelling. He visits us in Holland a few times in a year.

In December he played in the 14th Asian Team Championship in Esfahan http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail... (there is also a photo of Zaheeruddin)

In February he will play in Aeorflot Open.

In March he plays qualification Matches for the coming Chess Olympiad in Torino http://www.chessolympiad-torino2006...

  ahmadov: Thanks Bobak.
Jan-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: <ahmadov> You're welcome!
Feb-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: Zahiruddin has played during the Aeroflot Open, Group C. His result was 5,5/9. I publish his games as soon as possible.

lostemperor: <Bobak> do you happen to know Mishtari?
Feb-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: <lostemperor> No, who is he?

lostemperor: A former number 3 orso Afghan player who has lived in the Netherlands. Maybe your uncle knows him.
Feb-15-06   Jim Bartle: He's no Leko, apparently, according to his record at the top of the page.
Feb-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: <lostemperor> Really? Do you know him personally?
Feb-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: <Jim Bartle> Do you mean Zahiruddin? Yes, that's true. He always plays for a win, I think he almost never plays a draw, I know for sure he has never offered for a quick draw.

lostemperor: Yes I have played a lot with him. He still has a rating equivalent to 2100 Fide now (55). He must be >2200 then and has played in his country's team too.
Feb-15-06   Bobak Zahmat: <lostemperor> Cool. Well I will ask my uncle about him, and let you know what he knows.

Open Defence: maybe chessgames.com can incorporate some of Bobak's info into the bio
Mar-31-06   Bobak Zahmat: Well, the winning percentage is a bit lower after the games from Asian Championship is added :)
Apr-02-06   Bobak Zahmat: <Open Defense> I am trying to add as much info as possible with the help of <chessgames.com>, his photo is already been published like you can see.
Apr-13-06   Bobak Zahmat: During the coming Chess Olympiad in Torino Zahiruddin Asefi will play on the first board for Afghanistan. I will give you all an update on his progression and his results. After having performed amazingly at Calvia (8/11 score), he is ready to reach an even better result this time!
Nov-12-06   Bobak Zahmat: Sadly, Zahirruddin played a very bad Olympiad in Torino. One of the main reasons was, that there were too many players from Afghanistan in Torino and because of that he could play much.
Nov-12-06   Bobak Zahmat: My uncle is signed to play in the amateur Group of Corus Tournament.
Nov-12-06   Lt. Col. Majid: <Bobak Zahmat: My uncle is signed to play in the amateur Group of Corus Tournament.>

Wow. I am due to play there too.

What's his name so that I can make I crush him should our paths cross.

His name is Asefi Zahiruddin, i guess

Nov-12-06   Bobak Zahmat: <Lt. Col. Majid> What's your ELO rating? And no offense, but if my uncle is in shape he is hard to beat.
Nov-12-06   Lt. Col. Majid: <Bobak Zahmat:> Just kidding. Ur uncle doesn't need to be in shape to kick my butt:)
Nov-12-06   Bobak Zahmat: My uncle plays his best game against strong opponents, I don't know whether you have already noticed it yet, but he also played a game againt Krishan Sasikiran (A Zahiruddin vs Sasikiran, 2005), he lost that game, but the game was quite equal till the timecontrol.
