technical draw: <mr.niceguy> Yes she does remind me of Angela Davis. For those that did not live the period here's Angela's bio: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angela...

BishopBerkeley: Professor Angela Davis is now head of the Feminist Studies Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz:

http://feministstudies.ucsc.edu/fac...

I've visited this beautiful campus many times: it is a gloriously forested place of learning, lots and lots of beautiful trees :)

(: B Bishop Berkeley B :)

Should you visit Santa Cruz, be sure to stop by the Saturn Cafe, open till 3 AM on many nights:

http://www.saturncafe.com/

Dharma's Restaurant in nearby Capitola, formerly McDharma's before their legal tangle with McDonald's, is also well worth a visit:

Eric Schiller: <bishopB> Santa Cruz is just down the coast from me, and I have visited often. Avery Cardoza (of Cardoza Publishing) used to live there and we'd have editorial meetings about the chess books. Santa Cruz is a unique experience. The people there act like true Americans, standing up against authority as often as in Berkeley. When the Feds were harrassing medical marijuana distributors, the city made them all deputies, eligible to handle contraband items and immune from prosectuion. It is a very green area and the people do their best to maintain the natural splendor. Plenty of chessplayers, you just have to hang out in coffee houses and pubs.

And yes, Saturn Cafe is a must, but there is plenty of good eating there.

I wish they would hold some tournaments, to bring us down there more often!

BishopBerkeley: <Eric Schiller> Your assessment matches mine, Eric! I love Santa Cruz! I suspect it has about as high a concentration of independent thinkers as any city or town I've visited. (In this regard, the Santa Cruz Independent Media Center is an interesting project: http://santacruz.indymedia.org/ Of course, it is but one of many.)

How nice that you live in such a great location!

<9. Bxe6> instead of <9. Bxc7> might be a better choice.
