Barbara Hund was born on the 10th of October 1959 in Leverkusen, Germany. Awarded the WIM title in 1979 and the WGM title in 1982 she was German Women's Champion in 1978. She was born 13 days after her mother, Juliane, played in the 1959 German Women's Chess Championship.
