chessgames.com: More annotated games by Dan Heisman are coming soon.
Jun-20-04   apple head: lets get Mr. Robert James Fischer to annalise the "My 60 Memorable games" game collection
Jun-25-04   mymt: Welcome Dan this site is getting better every day since you guys arrived [you,Ray &now Lawrence Day].
Jul-28-04   loftus: I have the same chess set as the one you are playing in front of in your picture, Dan. It's very hard to tell the white from the black pieces, which sometimes makes for a keen "house advantage"...
Jul-29-04   ruylopez900: <chessgames.com> Hey, I was wondering if you would try to get other GMs and titled players to perhaps contribute to the database in such a manner. For renumeration you could give them "free" premium memberships, something I'm sure a few would find worthwhile.

Knight13: He's the best annotater at Chessgames.com, yet.
Oct-25-04   aw1988: <apple head: lets get Mr. Robert James Fischer to annalise the "My 60 Memorable games" game collection> Uhm...
Oct-25-04   aw1988: Oh sorry, had the wrong idea.
Dec-28-04   JamesKnight: Hey Dan Heisman: Why you disrespectin` my boy Nimzo? Calling him average when he was well above average is the ultimate in disrespect. My boy Nimzo was the stuff.
Apr-30-05   CatInTheHat: These games are so packed with blunders that they are absolutely worthless. Dan, if you're going to post some more games, how about try posting some good ones?
Apr-30-05   aw1988: Excuse me, everyone makes bad moves.
May-01-05   dzanone: Heisman is a teacher who writes The Novice Nook at chesscafe.com. I think the games are more for beginners.
May-13-05   queensknight: These games are meant to teach students, not be the most perfect, and most of these games are from when Mr. Heisman was a teenager! What would you expect since they are mostly from when he started tournament chess?
May-25-05   Greginctw: His book "Deadly threats" has more typos than any other book besides "Checkmate Strategies" by Koltanowski.

Rimrock: His "Novice Nook" column is some of the best chess writing I've ever encountered. As a beginner, I've probably learned more from it than any other source.
May-25-05   matrix: Lighten up, kitten in the cap. Heisman's Novice Nook is a gem for explaining required concepts, while the rest of chess literature is like learning unix - nothing makes sense until you already know the material you are reading about.

Dan, btw, I liked your commentary on chess.fm last weekend.

Jul-15-05   vampiero: where is this novice nook column at. i wann check it out
Jul-15-05   hintza: <vampiero> It can be found at http://chesscafe.com/.

chancho: This guy may not be a world beater, but clearly he can help players improve. One of his students, Dan Benjamin, was tutored by him and he became a Master.
Jul-30-05   SnoopDogg: He in an NM and charges 65 dollars an hour. I charge 5 dollars an hour and 2.50/dollars an hour per group. Dan must be a hell of a teacher :)).

chancho: <SnoopDogg> If that's what he's charging, then that is way too much. John Curdo charged 25$ an hour, when I took chess lessons from him, and he has way more credentials as a player then Dan Heisman.Curdo also tutored Patrick Wolff, who became a Grandmaster.

Joshka: <vampiero> His novice nook column is at chesscafe.com
Feb-13-06   BeautyInChess: Dan tutors out of the Main Line. It is some of the richest area in all of the United States. Maybe that's how he's able to get away with it.
Jul-14-06   nelson daligcon: dan, you'r great!
