I probably shoulda got 5.5 though.
I ended up with $400 from it, so i'm still pretty happy |

| Tigran Petrosian: My most recent tournament (the one where I met Gurevich) I got 5th place in the reserve section and 2 huge upsets. I got a check for 106 dollars and I outperformed Gurevich's son Sam Schmakel. Gurevich and I talked about his games with Tal. What a tournament. |

| aw1988: Garry Kasparov lookalike!! |
 |
| Mar-06-05 |
| jsastre48: He is a very nice and non assuming man. Sam Schmakel is one of his talented students. Gurevich combines play with coaching and he is very strong in both, a class act! |

| aw1988: I don't know what it is, but Gurevich seriously looks like Kasparov. Does anyone else notice this, or am I losing my mind? |

| Sneaky: I just got my latest Chess Life in the mail, my first thought was "Oh look at Kasparov on the cover." Then I looked again. It was Gurevich! |

| aw1988: Oh, so I'm still sane. I'm trying to pinpoint which similarity it is... the eyes? |
 |

| lopium: I'll guess the nose and hair's color. |
 |
| Nov-20-05 |
| jsastre48: They are quite friendly as Gurevich and his student Schmakel recently visited Kasparov in NY for a "tune up". |
 |
| Dec-10-05 |
| aw1988: I don't quite think so, lopium, but good guess... I'm still trying to figure it out... |

| Chess Classics: <waddayaplay> Okay, THAT is a spooky image. The resemblance is there, and I'm not sure quite what it is... Regards,

| Chess Classics: <DeepBlade: Relative of Mikhail Gurevich?> Dimitry Gurevich is one of the three Gurevich brothers (Ilya, Dimitri, and Mikhail.) Regards,

| wallytherhino: he is a little overshadowed by his brother mikhail |

| whiskeyrebel: maybe somebody should sponsor a 3 person family team tournament. |

| DeepBlade: Mikhail Gurevich plays in Turkey, which is a great honour to have him play there. Overall record: Mikhail Gurevich beat Suat Atalik 1 to 0, with 1 draw. M Gurevich vs S Atalik, 2006
Mikhail Gurevich's best game (in my opinion)
M Gurevich vs Short, 1990
Ilya's interresting game, his opening seems to challenge theory
I Gurevich vs Nunn, 1992
Last but not least, Dimitri Gurevich
L Ross vs D Gurevich, 2004
Resilent, clean and modern play! |

| WannaBe: <ex0duz> I'm quite sure that's <NOT> Kasparov. Since I was the one that took the picture, and got to see him in action. Now, if you see a picture of me, you'd say <I AM KASPAROV>. :-)) |
