| Nov-18-07 | | Ragh: This Dragon guy is one funny GM. Look at his bio part of one of his chessbase articles below. <My parents, Rade and Rada, love to tell a story that I learnt how to move pieces around the chessboard when I was 1.5 years old (number still decreasing), just watching father and uncle play. I don't remember this period of my life that well, but it is more likely that I only learnt how to throw pieces around the house at this age. Some years later, when I destroyed my father's last chess-set, he took me to Novi Sad Chessclub, where they had indestructible wooden pieces. > <Enormous quantities of time invested by my father in my first chess-steps resulted in a surprising manner – I mastered the rules of the game and even some basic endings. Having gained so much knowledge, I could dominate the children who didn't know how to make moves. The sweet taste of a victory made me fall in love in chess. > http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail... |

 | | TheAlchemist: <Dragon> Interesting typo, his name is actually Dragan :-) I met him a few times, he's a really great guy, very nice, great sense of humour, he played in my town 3 times (2003-2005) and when he came, he would greet us all first (I helped with the organization and was sure he wouldn't remember me, but he did), and even though he was the first seed and previous winner, he didn't act like a snob (as did some other players), he would also come and watch us play on the lower boards (we played in a different room than the top ones). I was really happy he won all three times. |
