Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-26-05  Eastfrisian: He was born in Paris on 30.03.1958 and died on 22.08.1995 (official).

In 1982 he awarded the IM. His father was the famous ralley-driver Jean-Claude Andruet.

Gilles Andruet was found dead near Paris in a plastic bag. He was trashed to death. The reason may have been his passion of playing (for money?). It is said, the he could often be found in playing clubs.

Sad end of a talented chess-player.

Mar-16-11  MountainMatt: There is a kibitz on the Mar-15-11 "daily puzzle" mentioning the plastic bag he was found in. I figured it was a tall tale, but apparently not. R.I.P. monsieur Andruet.
Sep-27-13  Abdooss: Andruet beat Tal in 1989.
