  Karpova: Beth Cassidy:
<Then there was that Ingrid Larsen, of Denmark. I watched her win one really good game. Her approach was very subtle. She just lit a cigar! Her poor opponent, smelling the smoke, felt she must at least be playing a grandmaster, began to get nervous and resigned a few moves later, completely demoralised.>

Aug-28-08   GrahamClayton: No other player, either male or female has won 17 national championships. The nearest is the 16 New Zealand championships won by Ortvin Sarapu.

Benzol: <GrahamClayton> Ortvin Sarapu got his name on the New Zealand Championship trophy ( a giant silver rook seen in the background of the picture in his player profile ) some 20 times, either individually or shared.

Jul-01-09   Dredge Rivers: <WhiteRook48> <Larsen is a common Danish name> Yes, but that doesn't answer <WannaBe>'s question. Is she related to Bent Larsen?
