Jan-17-06    Sneaky: Jaime was a "he", but anyhow, it says that because it's true. What's the problem? Aug-11-07    Fusilli: I was his student for a year or two in the 80s. He was a lawyer and political journalist/columnist, and got himself involved in politics although he never held public office (he ran for Congressman once, but it was largely symbolic as he had no chance.) He was even arrested for a brief period by the government of the province of San Luis (same San Luis as the 2005 FIDE World Championship) as a retaliation for openly criticizing their corrupt governor. He was released quickly afterward as a consequence of the bad press that the move generated (arresting a political columnist... what a dumb move!) He smoke A LOT. I don't know what he died of, but wouldn't be surprised if it was lung cancer.
