He won the 2010 North American Youth Championship U14 Open (6.5/7) & 2010 RA Club championship. In 2011, he tied for 3rd-4th in the N. American U-16 Youth Championship at 5/7. In 2009, he achieved a Canadian National Master certification from results in Ontario. Joey is the reigning triple-crown champion of Ottawa's club championship, as well as their active and blitz championships of Canada's capital city.
